📋 Description
- • As the Materials Innovation Developer, PRO – Advanced Concepts, you research, source and develop novel, innovative materials used in industry-leading apparel/equipment for the professional user (guides, search & rescue, special operation forces).
- • You work ahead of the Product Operations calendar on difficult-to-execute material and trim developments, driven by a combination of design-based briefs, insights/foresight, personal expertise and technology-scouting.
- • You act as the central source of truth and expertise across the material technologies utilized and emerging in the PRO category, interfacing with Design, Supply Chain, Global Product/Merchandising, and other functions.
- • Based in North Vancouver, BC, you contribute to a team that drives breakthrough innovation in snow, trail and climb for the mountain athlete, leveraging in-house end-to-end capabilities in research, engineering, design, development, digital and validation to create head-to-toe solutions rooted in sustainability and passion for product.
- • This role enables you to shape the future of high-performance materials for extreme environments, combining technical expertise with creative problem-solving to advance Arc'teryx’s PRO category.
🎯 Requirements
- • Experience in material research, sourcing, and development for technical apparel or equipment
- • Strong understanding of advanced textiles, trims, and performance materials used in outdoor or professional gear
- • Ability to interpret design briefs and translate insights into actionable material innovations
- • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Supply Chain, and Product teams
- • Expertise in technology scouting and forecasting emerging material trends
- • Hands-on experience with material testing, validation, and sustainability considerations
