📋 Description

• Design advanced mathematical problems to train and evaluate frontier AI models, ensuring each problem is rigorous, deterministic, and has exactly one verifiable correct answer.
• Develop original problems that test deep mathematical reasoning, avoiding reliance on memorization or pattern recognition, and instead reflecting authentic mathematical workflows.
• Write complete, verified solutions for every problem, including step-by-step reasoning that is technically precise, logically sound, and clearly documented in English.
• Utilize Python and computational libraries (e.g., numpy, scipy, pandas) to build reproducible computational workflows where relevant to problem generation or validation.
• Ensure all outputs meet high standards of technical accuracy, clarity, and reproducibility for use in AI training and evaluation pipelines at leading AI labs.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align problem design with the technical goals of AI model reasoning enhancement in STEM domains.
• Contribute to the creation of high-quality STEM training data used directly in cutting-edge AI development cycles.
• Maintain strict adherence to problem specifications: no ambiguity, no multiple solutions, no open-ended prompts — only deterministic, solvable mathematical challenges.
• Document all assumptions, constraints, and solution methodologies with meticulous attention to detail to enable peer review and model benchmarking.
• Adapt problem complexity to target state-of-the-art AI systems, ensuring challenges are sufficiently difficult to expose reasoning gaps without being unsolvable.
• Deliver all work in English with flawless technical writing, ensuring clarity for international AI research teams.
• Work independently on a part-time, contract basis with a commitment of 20 hours per week over a 2-month project period, with potential for extension based on performance.
• Begin work immediately upon onboarding, with flexibility to manage schedule around other professional commitments.
• Contribute to a global effort shaping the next generation of AI reasoning capabilities through mathematically grounded, high-fidelity training data.

🎯 Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field
• Strong research or industry experience involving mathematical modeling, proof-based reasoning, applied mathematics, or computational mathematics
• Strong Python skills; comfort with libraries such as numpy, scipy, pandas, or similar
• Solid grasp of algorithms, numerical methods, and computational approaches
• Ability to design original, difficult problems that mirror real mathematical workflows
• Excellent attention to detail and technical writing skills in English
