📋 Description
- • Design advanced mathematical problems to train and evaluate frontier AI models with a focus on deep reasoning capabilities
- • Create deterministic problems that have exactly one verifiable correct answer, ensuring technical precision and reproducibility
- • Develop original, challenging problems that test mathematical understanding beyond memorization, mirroring real-world research workflows
- • Write complete, verified solutions for each problem, including step-by-step reasoning and logical justifications
- • Document all problem-solving processes clearly and rigorously in English, ensuring clarity for both human and machine evaluation
- • Utilize Python and computational libraries such as numpy, scipy, and pandas to build and validate computational workflows where applicable
- • Ensure all outputs meet high standards of technical accuracy, logical consistency, and linguistic precision
- • Contribute to the creation of high-quality STEM training data used directly in AI training and evaluation pipelines at leading AI labs
- • Collaborate remotely with a distributed team to align problem design with model evaluation goals
- • Maintain strict adherence to project specifications, including format, structure, and solution verification protocols
- • Deliver work on schedule within a 2-month contract period, with potential for extension based on performance and need
- • Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining consistent communication and quality control
- • Focus exclusively on mathematical domains requiring proof-based reasoning, applied mathematics, or computational mathematics
- • Avoid problems that rely on ambiguity, subjective interpretation, or non-deterministic outcomes
- • Ensure all problems are novel and not derived from publicly available sources or standard textbooks without significant modification
- • Prioritize depth over breadth, designing problems that challenge state-of-the-art AI systems in non-trivial ways
- • Maintain meticulous records of problem sources, solution validations, and computational checks for auditability
- • Adapt problem complexity to match the capabilities of cutting-edge AI models currently in development
- • Contribute to iterative improvements in problem design based on model performance feedback
🎯 Requirements
- • Master’s or PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field
- • Strong research or industry experience involving mathematical modeling, proof-based reasoning, applied mathematics, or computational mathematics
- • Strong Python skills; comfort with libraries such as numpy, scipy, pandas, or similar
- • Solid grasp of algorithms, numerical methods, and computational approaches
- • Ability to design original, difficult problems that mirror real mathematical workflows
- • Excellent attention to detail and technical writing skills in English
