Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Lead the Contract Intake team at Berkeley Research Group (BRG), a firm that redefines consulting by fusing world-class academic insight with battle-tested business acumen. As Matter Intake Manager you will own the end-to-end lifecycle of every new engagement—from the moment a contract is signed to the instant the first billable hour is logged—ensuring that each matter is set up flawlessly for billing, revenue recognition, and reporting in strict accordance with ASC 606 and client-specific guidelines.
- • Shape and safeguard the firm’s revenue engine. You will review every engagement letter, SOW, amendment, and change order for completeness, accuracy, and compliance, translating complex contractual language into precise project structures inside Workday, InTapp, and 3E Elite. Your decisions directly affect cash-flow forecasting, WIP valuation, and the integrity of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- • Build, coach, and inspire a high-performing intake team. Through weekly 1:1s, quarterly goal-setting, and real-time feedback loops, you will cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, cross-training, and customer-centric service. You will balance workloads, remove bottlenecks, and champion professional development so that every analyst can progress toward mastery.
- • Serve as the strategic bridge between Finance, Legal, Tax, FP&A, and Operations. When a partner wants to structure a fixed-fee arrangement with complex milestone billing, you will translate the economics into a system configuration that satisfies both client reporting needs and BRG’s revenue recognition policy. When Legal flags a high-risk clause, you will coordinate with outside counsel and internal stakeholders to craft an acceptable workaround—then document the precedent for future reuse.
- • Drive automation and process excellence. You will map current-state workflows, identify manual touchpoints, and partner with IT and Data Analytics to deploy robotic process automation (RPA), dynamic forms, and exception-based dashboards. Your quarterly KPI reviews will spotlight cycle-time reductions, error-rate improvements, and cost savings that free the team to focus on higher-value advisory work.
- • Own the quarterly project-closure review cycle. You will audit open matters, enforce timely completion of final invoices, and ensure that all revenue is properly recognized and reconciled. Your findings will feed directly into executive-level discussions on capacity planning, pricing strategy, and client profitability.
- • Champion data integrity and governance. You will maintain the single source of truth for matter attributes, billing rates, and client hierarchies, partnering with Data Analytics to build self-service reports that empower partners to make real-time decisions on staffing, pricing, and risk.
- • Navigate complexity with poise. Whether it’s a last-minute amendment to a global arbitration, a multi-currency engagement spanning five continents, or a regulatory investigation with strict confidentiality protocols, you will remain calm under pressure, synthesize competing priorities, and deliver solutions that protect both client interests and firm profitability.
- • Contribute to BRG’s broader strategic agenda. You will sit on the Revenue Operations steering committee, influence the roadmap for enterprise systems, and represent intake operations in firm-wide initiatives such as ESG reporting, DEI analytics, and client-experience transformation.
- • Embody BRG’s ethos of “We do consulting differently.” You will bring curiosity, humility, and intellectual rigor to every interaction, translating deep technical expertise into practical, actionable guidance that elevates the entire firm.
