📋 Description
- • As a Senior Software Engineer at NGP VAN, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the technical health and quality of the product, with a focus on integrating AI-powered features to support democratic and progressive causes.
- • Day to day, you will own release cycles, contribute to sprint planning and execution, collaborate with product and data science teams to define features, mentor junior engineers, and implement AI-driven solutions using LLMs and other emerging technologies.
- • You will work within a mission-driven team at NGP VAN, a leading technology platform for democratic and progressive causes, supporting campaigns, advocacy groups, labor unions, and nonprofit organizations in advancing equity, climate reform, reproductive freedom, and racial justice.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in AI integration, full-stack development, and cloud infrastructure while mentoring others, improving engineering processes, and contributing to high-impact software that powers real-world democratic engagement.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of full stack Software Development experience, including design patterns and data structures
- • Proficiency with Django, Python, Postgres databases, and AWS ECS, with expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure and deployment models
- • Experience incorporating AI technologies such as LLMs into existing software products and using AI tools and prompt engineering to solve engineering problems
- • Strong experience with Agile methodologies including Kanban, stand-ups, and retrospectives
- • Experience mentoring junior engineers and fostering a collaborative, team-first culture
- • Proficient in creating documentation and training materials to improve team efficiency and knowledge sharing
