- • Design and implement multi-file coding tasks focused on bug resolution, feature development, refactoring, and test generation for production-grade software systems.
- • Write clear, precise natural-language specifications and reference implementations that accurately define coding challenges and expected outcomes.
- • Develop and extend comprehensive unit and integration test suites using frameworks such as pytest, Jest, JUnit, xUnit, or Go testing to validate code correctness and robustness.
- • Review peer-generated coding tasks for correctness, clarity, realism, and alignment with production engineering standards.
- • Identify edge cases, ambiguities, and potential failure modes in both task specifications and peer submissions to ensure high-fidelity evaluation scenarios.
- • Ensure strict alignment between task specifications, reference code implementations, and expected outputs across diverse software contexts.
- • Work independently on a project-based, part-time consultant basis with full control over schedule and workload.
- • Contribute to the creation of realistic software engineering evaluation tasks used by a leading AI lab to assess technical proficiency.
- • Operate in a remote environment with no requirement for physical office presence or fixed working hours.
- • Use your own tools and infrastructure; no company-provided equipment or software is provided.
- • Collaborate asynchronously with a distributed team of technical evaluators and project leads.
- • Deliver high-quality, production-realistic coding tasks with complete reference implementations and validated test artifacts.
- • Provide structured, actionable feedback on peer submissions, highlighting strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement.
- • Participate in project-based engagements that vary in scope and duration, with compensation calculated per completed project based on estimated time and complexity.
- • Maintain professional written proficiency in English for all documentation, specifications, reviews, and communications.
- • Navigate and contribute to large, complex, multi-file codebases with minimal guidance.
- • Apply experience in backend or full-stack development to design tasks that reflect real-world engineering challenges.
- • Perform code reviews and refactoring analyses as part of task design and peer evaluation processes.
- • Manage concurrent engagements with other vendors or employers, provided they do not conflict with this role’s terms.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3–7 years of professional software engineering experience
- • Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript
- • Backend or full-stack development experience in production systems
- • Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., pytest, Jest, JUnit, xUnit, Go testing)
- • Proven ability to debug and navigate large, multi-file codebases
- • Advanced professional written proficiency in English
