  • • As a Media Relations Specialist at FICO Software Corporate Communications, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and amplifying the narrative around FICO’s software and analytics innovations, ensuring the company’s story resonates across key financial, technology, and business media outlets.
  • • You will drive media visibility for product launches, technology advancements, customer success stories, and strategic partnerships by translating complex analytics concepts into compelling, newsworthy angles that secure interviews and meaningful coverage.
  • • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include researching media trends and competitive news to uncover story opportunities, building and maintaining targeted media lists, managing agency partnerships, and ensuring alignment on outreach priorities across the FICO Software business.
  • • You will support the editorial calendar and content pipeline by contributing story ideas, managing the speakership and conference pipeline, and guiding external agencies in evaluating and recommending speaking and media opportunities.
  • • You will staff executive intake calls, develop media pitches, prepare spokespeople for interviews and events, handle inbound media inquiries, and proactively pitch FICO news to maintain an always-on media engagement approach.
  • • You will stay current on emerging technology and industry trends to identify timely angles that position FICO within relevant conversations, particularly in fintech, AI, and enterprise software landscapes.
  • • You will collaborate closely with product, marketing, executive stakeholders, and the broader Corporate Communications Software team to support major initiatives and ensure messaging consistency across channels.
  • • You will contribute to press strategy development and help maintain FICO’s reputation as a trusted leader in analytics software through proactive, strategic media engagement.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • • 3-5+ years of experience in media relations, public relations, or communications, preferably in B2B tech and/or financial services, with agency experience and existing relationships in the B2B tech/fintech space preferred.
  • • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including professional writing abilities, and a proven track record of developing and pitching innovative story ideas.
  • • Exceptional understanding of the media landscape and working knowledge of engaging reporters across financial, technology, and business outlets.
  • • Strong project-management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams, stakeholders, and regions.
  • • Proactive, detail-oriented mindset with high adaptability, collaboration, and a willingness to take ownership of projects in fast-paced, high-growth settings.
