- • As a Medical Economist/Health Data Analyst at Nebraska Blue Cross and Blue Shield, you will serve as an analytical subject matter expert on a collaborative Data Analytics team, delivering health data analytics and informatics to support strategic decision-making and value-based care initiatives for members, providers, employer groups, and leadership.
- • Day to day, you will extract, prepare, analyze, and interpret healthcare data using advanced SQL, Python, R, and BI tools; develop and maintain predictive models and utilization trend analyses; lead economic modeling and cost-effectiveness studies; partner with stakeholders to analyze provider payment methodologies and care management analytics; mentor junior analysts; and present actionable insights to internal and external audiences through compelling data storytelling.

🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Health Care Management, or related field (Master’s preferred) and 5+ years of experience in healthcare analytics, medical economics, or actuarial analysis.
- • Advanced technical skills in SQL, Python, R, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Power BI (DAX, Power Query), Azure Data Factory, dbt, PySpark/Spark SQL, and Git for version control.
- • Demonstrated expertise in healthcare domain knowledge including claims data, provider reimbursement models, value-based care, HEDIS/STARS metrics, cost-effectiveness analysis, risk adjustment, forecasting, and HIPAA-compliant data governance.
