- • Design, build, and operate multi-tenant backend APIs and orchestration systems that power all Poolside product experiences
- • Collaborate with product, research, and engineering teams to deliver end-to-end capabilities for AI-driven developer tools
- • Participate in on-call rotations and incident response to ensure high reliability and operational excellence of the platform
- • Drive continual improvements to system reliability, security, and performance across cloud and on-premise deployments
- • Work closely with solution architects to streamline and optimize deployment of the Poolside platform in enterprise on-premise environments
- • Build scalable distributed systems with strong focus on consistency models, fault tolerance, and performance optimization
- • Implement and maintain event-driven architectures using message queues and distributed processing frameworks
- • Operate and monitor infrastructure at scale using cloud providers such as AWS and GCP
- • Utilize Kubernetes and Terraform for infrastructure provisioning, management, and automation
- • Implement observability systems including OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog to ensure system transparency and performance
- • Write production-grade code in Go, Ruby, or Python, with openness to polyglot engineers from other languages
- • Work autonomously in ambiguous environments, prioritizing tasks and delivering high-quality outcomes with minimal supervision
- • Contribute to the design and deployment of durable execution and workflow systems to support long-running AI-driven processes
- • Engage in monthly in-person collaboration in Paris (Monday-Wednesday) with optional extended stays, and participate in annual off-sites
- • Maintain a culture of low ego, intellectual curiosity, and collaborative intentionality while advancing the mission of achieving AGI through software development tools
🎯 Requirements
- • Significant experience building and operating multi-tenant backend APIs and systems at scale
- • Strong expertise in distributed systems, including consistency models, fault tolerance, and performance optimization
- • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and observability tools (e.g., OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog)
- • Strong programming proficiency in Go, Ruby, or Python
- • Experience deploying and operating infrastructure in cloud environments (AWS, GCP)
- • Ability to work effectively with ambiguity and self-direct in a fast-paced, research-driven environment
