đź“‹ Description
- • As a Deployed Engineer (Federal) at LangChain, Inc., you will be at the forefront of deploying cutting-edge AI agent technology within the U.S. Federal Government sector. This role is not about theoretical concepts or simple prototypes; it's about architecting, building, and operating production-grade AI systems that address real-world, mission-critical challenges for defense, civilian, and intelligence agencies.
- • You will collaborate directly with government engineers, technical program managers, and system integrators, acting as a trusted technical advisor throughout the entire project lifecycle. Your expertise will be crucial from the initial stages of technical shaping and evaluations in pre-award phases to providing ongoing advisory support post-deployment in secure, often classified, environments.
- • A core aspect of your responsibility will be to achieve the "technical win" by demonstrating the value and feasibility of LangChain's solutions. This involves designing and implementing secure Proofs of Concept (POCs), contributing to technical responses for Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and guiding customers through rigorous technical evaluations.
- • You will be instrumental in designing robust architectures that strictly adhere to stringent federal security and compliance mandates. This includes a deep understanding and practical application of frameworks such as FedRAMP, Department of Defense (DoD) Impact Levels (IL2–IL6), and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) guidelines, ensuring that AI agents operate reliably and securely within these regulated landscapes.
- • The role involves hands-on work in helping agencies deploy and operationalize a variety of sophisticated agent-based applications. Examples include developing mission support copilots that provide real-time assistance, building intelligent agents for in-depth intelligence analysis, automating complex research processes, and orchestrating multi-step operational workflows that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- • Beyond initial deployment, you will provide critical post-award advisory services. This encompasses guiding customers on best practices for architecture optimization, ensuring scalability for future growth, implementing effective observability and monitoring strategies, refining evaluation methodologies for AI performance, and contributing to long-term strategic roadmap decisions.
- • You will be expected to deliver compelling technical demonstrations, conduct in-depth workshops, and provide tailored enablement sessions. These engagements will be specifically designed for government developer and operator audiences, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills to effectively utilize and manage AI agents.
- • A significant part of navigating the federal landscape involves close partnership with internal and external security teams. You will play a key role in assisting customers with their Authority to Operate (ATO) processes and guiding them through various accreditation pathways, ensuring all deployments meet the highest security standards.
- • You will act as a vital conduit for information, surfacing critical feedback and insights from federal use cases back to the LangChain product and engineering teams. This feedback loop is essential for developing reusable patterns, creating comprehensive secure deployment guides, and producing example code that can be scaled and adapted across multiple agencies, thereby improving the overall LangChain ecosystem.
- • In instances where it significantly enhances federal customer outcomes and aligns with product strategy, you may have opportunities to contribute code directly to the upstream open-source LangChain projects, further solidifying the platform's capabilities for government use.
- • This role demands a proactive, ownership-driven mindset. You will be responsible for mission outcomes, not just delivering recommendations. Comfort with ambiguity and a strong bias toward action are essential, as you'll be operating in dynamic, high-stakes environments where agility and decisive execution are paramount.
- • Ultimately, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of AI agent deployment within the federal government, ensuring LangChain's technology empowers critical missions with reliability, security, and scalability.
