- • Your primary responsibility will be to offer strategic guidance and a clear vision for spectrum-related initiatives, conducting in-depth research to inform and influence the program’s software development roadmap, planning, and execution.
- • This role requires a deep understanding of electromagnetic spectrum principles and their application to modern software systems and government missions.
- • You will be instrumental in gathering insights from a diverse group of SMEs to derive comprehensive operational plans and strategic roadmaps, demonstrating a proactive approach to problem-solving and strategic planning.
- • A key aspect of your contribution will involve the ability to articulate and vet requirements, including user stories with precise acceptance criteria, for review by system engineers and government stakeholders during Integrated Project Team (IPT) meetings.
- • You will act as a crucial liaison, assisting software developers in understanding complex spectrum requirements, system limitations, and the advantages of specific equipment, thereby facilitating the efficient implementation of capability improvements into developed products, services, and systems.
- • Your involvement in agile ceremonies will be significant, where you will contribute to the iterative development process and play a key role in customer-facing technical exchanges, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
- • You will be expected to independently host technical exchange meetings with stakeholders and actively participate, representing GDIT, in relevant government spectrum working group sessions, thereby enhancing GDIT's influence and expertise in the field.
- • The role also includes conducting instructional, in-person or virtual product training for stakeholders and federal agency customers, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and adoption of new capabilities.
- • You will be expected to work independently, demonstrating initiative and self-direction in managing your responsibilities and contributing to program success.
- • Researching, communicating, and applying electromagnetic spectrum industry best practices to assigned GDIT and Government software development initiatives will be a core function, ensuring alignment with current standards and future trends.
- • Applying your spectrum expertise to advance GDIT program and customer mission and vision will be paramount, driving innovation and strategic growth.
- • You will demonstrate the ability to communicate program goals, objectives, and opportunities clearly and effectively to senior executives, customers, and stakeholders, fostering understanding and buy-in.
- • Collaborating closely with Agile teams to appropriately define Epics, Features, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria will be essential for successful software development cycles.
- • Utilizing your spectrum domain expertise to devise new and innovative ways for Government spectrum users to leverage available spectrum management efficiencies will be a key differentiator.
- • Developing, advancing, and communicating the program’s software development strategy using spectrum best practices will be a significant contribution.
- • You will demonstrate the ability to obtain inputs from multiple SMEs to derive operational plans and roadmaps, synthesizing diverse perspectives into actionable strategies.
- • Writing requirements as high-level user stories or epics in GitLab, proposing business solutions to meet requirements, will be a regular task.
- • You will help developers and testers understand spectrum functionality to be implemented within software solutions and assist in testing spectrum functionality after developers implement changes.
- • Serving as the Subject Matter Expert for Spectrum frequency assignment questions will be a critical support function.
- • Providing Operational support expertise, as required, will ensure the smooth functioning of deployed systems.
- • Strong written and verbal communication skills, coupled with excellent listening skills, are essential for effective collaboration and stakeholder management.
- • Writing documentation applicable to both spectrum engineering and software developer audiences will be necessary for clear communication and knowledge sharing.
- • Supporting the development of architecture mock-ups, flow diagrams, or models, and procedures, along with conducting feasibility studies to design possible system solutions, will contribute to the overall system design.
- • Supporting the development of training material, PowerPoint presentations, and conducting in-person and virtual training for agencies will ensure user adoption and proficiency.
- • Deliverables will include accurately supporting the definition of Epics, Features, and User Stories to support customer acceptance criteria, positively contributing to all agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, etc.), and contributing to architecture mock-ups, flow diagrams, models, and procedures as needed to define GitLab stories.
- • You will also be responsible for creating training material, training scripts, and PowerPoint presentations needed for training sessions, as well as providing input for the User Training Manual for use by the end-user community on how to use the system to input and process certification requests.
