- • Member of Engineering (Design Engineer, Full Experience) at Poolside AI, Inc. is a pivotal role responsible for setting the experiential standard across all company surfaces — product, marketing, brand, and systems — ensuring every output reflects the quality of the intelligence behind it.
- • Day to day, the role involves owning design quality and consistency, building and evolving a scalable design system, writing reusable production-quality frontend code, collaborating with Design Engineers on brand and marketing surfaces, partnering with Product Engineering to implement design system components, and holding a high visual bar that raises standards across the team.
- • Poolside AI, Inc. is a mission-driven company building agentic systems and frontier models to accelerate software development as a path to Artificial General Intelligence, with a distributed team across EMEA and East Coast, monthly in-person collaboration in Paris, and a culture rooted in low ego, intellectual curiosity, and kindness.
- • In this role, the individual will deepen expertise in design systems, production frontend engineering, and cross-surface design thinking, while contributing to a high-impact mission at the frontier of AI and developer experience, gaining influence across product, brand, and engineering domains.
🎯 Requirements
- • Visual craft with high polish, typographic sensitivity, and attention to detail across product and brand contexts
- • Experience designing across the full experience of a company: product, marketing, design systems, and brand
- • Proficiency producing reusable, clean frontend code: components and systems, not just one-off pages
- • Genuine history of building with code: scripts, tools, personal projects shipped from scratch
- • Genuine familiarity with developer workflows: version control, local environments, command line, deployment pipelines
- • Deep experience designing for developer tools specifically, not general consumer or enterprise products
- • Experience building design systems, not just maintaining them, but defining the pipeline and driving adoption
- • Systems thinker: able to see how decisions in one surface affect another and design accordingly
