- • Manage the field installation of chilled-water systems, MCUPs, CDUs, TES tanks, pumps, valves, and associated piping at the Burlington, TX campus.
- • Oversee the installation and compliance of ductwork, air-handling, and hydronic systems to ensure adherence to design specifications and constructability standards.
- • Coordinate closely with electrical, controls, and commissioning teams to ensure mechanical systems are integrated and ready for startup.
- • Review submittals, track equipment deliveries, and support material inspections to verify compliance with project requirements.
- • Conduct regular field walks for quality assurance, quality control, punch-list management, and mechanical completion verification.
- • Support startup and turnover documentation in collaboration with the commissioning team to ensure accurate handover of systems.
- • Maintain accurate as-built documentation reflecting all mechanical system installations and modifications.
- • Report progress against schedule milestones and identify potential delays or constructability issues proactively.
- • Ensure all mechanical systems meet operational and safety standards for data center environments.
- • Serve as the primary mechanical point of contact on-site for contractors, engineers, and cross-functional teams.
- • Resolve field-level constructability issues in real time with practical, actionable solutions.
- • Communicate clearly and effectively across trades, including electrical, instrumentation, and civil teams, to align on mechanical integration points.
- • Participate in daily coordination meetings and weekly progress reviews to update stakeholders on mechanical scope status.
- • Verify that all mechanical components are installed per manufacturer specifications and industry codes.
- • Support the transition from construction to operations by ensuring all documentation, warranties, and training materials are complete and delivered.
- • Maintain a strong focus on safety protocols and compliance during all field activities.
- • Work exclusively onsite five days per week at the Burlington, TX campus with no remote work permitted.
- • Collaborate directly with OpenAI’s capital partners and internal infrastructure teams to align mechanical execution with Stargate’s global infrastructure strategy.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years of experience managing mechanical systems on data center or industrial projects
- • Deep knowledge of chilled-water and heat-rejection systems, fluid dynamics, and controls integration
- • Proven ability to coordinate field execution across multiple trades in a high-stakes, fast-paced environment
- • Strong field-oriented mindset with hands-on experience resolving constructability issues on-site
- • Experience with submittal reviews, equipment tracking, and material inspections in large-scale infrastructure projects
- • Ability to maintain accurate as-built documentation and support commissioning and turnover processes
