Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Lead the full sales cycle for Orbital’s modular data center platform, from initial prospect identification to closing multi-million-dollar deployments in the $5M–$100M+ range.
- • Identify and pursue opportunities with hyperscalers, colocation providers, enterprise IT teams, and telecom operators, tracking competitive dynamics, regional demand signals, and emerging deployment models to shape go-to-market strategy.
- • Translate client requirements around power, cooling, redundancy, and deployment timelines into customized modular configurations, applying EPMC-level rigor while maintaining product-business speed.
- • Own RFP/RFQ responses, competitive pricing strategies, and negotiation of master service agreements (MSAs), payment milestones, and performance guarantees.
- • Act as the internal voice of the customer by aligning sales commitments with engineering feasibility, manufacturing capacity, and delivery schedules, with direct collaboration with engineers, manufacturing leads, and delivery teams.
- • Build strategic account plans focused on repeat business and multi-deployment partnerships, prioritizing long-term client relationships over one-time transactions.
- • Navigate complex procurement processes typical of capital-intensive infrastructure sales, including change order management, milestone-based delivery structures, and financial modeling (TCO, ROI, business case development).
- • Maintain deep fluency in data center fundamentals: power distribution systems, UPS/generator architectures, precision cooling (DX, chilled water, liquid-to-chip), and Tier classification standards.
- • Engage with clients on high-density AI/HPC deployment requirements and liquid cooling architectures, leveraging existing technical knowledge or rapidly acquiring it through direct access to Orbital’s engineering teams.
- • Travel domestically 40–60% of the time, with occasional international trips to support client engagements, site assessments, and partnership development.
- • Work within a vertically integrated, AI-first organization where sales is treated as a technical discipline — not a handoff function — requiring close coordination with AI research, materials science, and manufacturing teams.
- • Contribute to shaping Orbital’s market positioning by providing real-time customer feedback on product performance, deployment challenges, and competitive differentiators.
- • Represent Orbital at industry events and client meetings as a trusted technical advisor, not just a sales representative, reinforcing trust through engineering credibility and delivery reliability.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of experience closing complex capital equipment or turnkey infrastructure deals in EPMC, mission-critical, or heavy MEP environments
- • Deep fluency in design-build and EPC contract structures, including change order management and milestone-based delivery
- • Solid grounding in data center fundamentals: power distribution, UPS/generator systems, precision cooling (DX, chilled water, liquid-to-chip), and Tier classification
- • Proven track record of closing deals in the $5M–$100M+ range with hyperscalers, colocation providers, or enterprise IT operators
- • Comfort with 40–60% domestic travel and occasional international travel
- • Direct experience with modular, prefabricated, or containerized infrastructure solutions (preferred)
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary commensurate with AI sector standards
- • Flexible and generous paid time off
- • Pension with company match
- • Excellent health, dental, and vision insurance plans
