• Zefr is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Multilingual Data Annotation Specialist to play a pivotal role in the advancement of our cutting-edge AI systems. As a cornerstone of our machine learning initiatives, your primary responsibility will be the meticulous annotation of diverse digital content, including videos, images, and associated metadata, across prominent social media platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Meta, and Snap. This role is critical because high-quality human annotation is the bedrock upon which our machine learning models learn to interpret, classify, and evaluate content at an unprecedented scale. Your precise and thoughtful work will directly influence the accuracy, reliability, and overall integrity of Zefr’s sophisticated AI solutions, ensuring our clients receive the most effective and transparent content adjacency tools available.
• In this dynamic position, you will leverage Zefr’s proprietary internal tools to meticulously label social media content, adhering strictly to our established contextual category guidelines. This involves a daily commitment to annotation and rigorous quality evaluation across various content formats. A key aspect of this role is the application of deep cognitive and cultural understanding to make nuanced judgment calls on complex, sensitive, or potentially ambiguous content. You will be tasked with interpreting, applying, and actively contributing to the refinement of our labeling frameworks and comprehensive documentation, ensuring they remain current and effective.
• A significant part of your contribution will involve identifying emerging trends, recognizing edge cases that fall outside standard classifications, and proactively surfacing potential issues or areas for improvement to relevant stakeholders. You will conduct thorough root cause analyses to pinpoint opportunities for enhancing overall content quality and the efficiency of our annotation processes. Furthermore, your insights into content patterns and user behavior will be invaluable in contributing to the enhancement of our labeling interface, making it more intuitive and effective for the entire team.
• You will be responsible for generating detailed weekly reports that encapsulate your findings, quality assessments, and actionable recommendations for improvement. This includes performing comprehensive quality assurance checks across multiple project pipelines, ensuring consistency and adherence to standards. Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of Zefr’s policies and proactively suggesting optimization opportunities for both processes and guidelines will be a continuous expectation. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain foundational exposure to core machine learning concepts and develop a profound understanding of how high-quality, human-generated annotation data is the essential fuel that powers advanced AI systems.
• The ideal candidate is someone who possesses a natural curiosity about machine learning and computer vision, thrives on making nuanced decisions, and is deeply committed to delivering precise, thoughtful, and high-integrity work. We are looking for an individual who is self-directed, possesses strong analytical skills, is proactive in their approach, and is comfortable navigating ambiguity. Your ability to work with sensitive content, including but not limited to political topics, religious perspectives, depictions of violence, and adult material, while maintaining objectivity and adherence to guidelines, is paramount. You will be expected to work a hybrid schedule, spending 2 to 3 days per week in our vibrant Marina del Rey office, fostering collaboration and team cohesion.

🎯 Requirements

• Fluency in English and at least one of the following languages: Hindi, Turkish, or Tagalog.
• Professional experience in data annotation, content moderation, labeling, quality assurance, or policy enforcement.
• Strong cultural fluency and the ability to interpret contextual nuance across varied content types and social media platforms (TikTok, YouTube, Meta, Snap).
• Exceptional attention to detail with a proven ability to perform repetitive tasks with high consistency and accuracy.
