Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the complete sales cycle for a defined list of Fortune 1000 accounts across the US-East region, from first conversation through multi-year, seven-figure expansion deals that transform how thousands of engineers write, review, and ship code every day.
- • Become the strategic advisor who shows CTOs, VPs of Engineering, and platform teams why the world’s most advanced code search engine is no longer a “nice-to-have” but the critical control plane for security, velocity, and developer happiness in a world where codebases double in size every 18 months.
- • Map and penetrate complex matrix organizations—banks with 30,000+ developers, healthcare giants under HIPAA pressure, hyper-growth unicorns scaling from 200 to 2,000 engineers—translating technical pain into quantifiable ROI and executive urgency.
- • Run discovery that goes deeper than “find code faster”: surface hidden costs of onboarding delays, incident response times, and knowledge silos, then co-create a Sourcegraph adoption roadmap that becomes a board-level OKR.
- • Orchestrate multi-threaded campaigns with champions, economic buyers, legal, security, and procurement, using MEDDPICC rigor to compress 9-month enterprise cycles to 90-day wins while protecting 90 %+ gross margins.
- • Deliver jaw-dropping product demos that turn skeptical architects into power users in 30 minutes—live querying across 50,000 repos, auto-remediating Log4j in minutes, or slashing “time to first commit” for new hires from days to hours.
- • Quarterback our Solutions Engineering, Customer Engineering, and Executive teams to craft bespoke business cases, ROI models, and security narratives that withstand Fortune 50 scrutiny and pass red-team audits.
- • Build and obsessively maintain a whitespace map of every BU, subsidiary, and acquired company in your patch, turning one-team wins into 10× land-and-expand motions that grow ARR 300 %+ year-over-year.
- • Instrument your territory like a growth hacker: leverage Salesforce, Gong, and our own Sourcegraph instance to analyze call transcripts, code-search usage telemetry, and intent data to know which commit triggered a buying signal before the VP does.
- • Evangelize Sourcegraph at DevOps Days, KubeCon, and invite-only CISO roundtables, turning conference hallway conversations into pipeline that your East-coast peers will cite in SKOs.
- • Champion customer feedback into our product roadmap—when a top-5 retailer needs custom RBAC or a federal agency needs FedRAMP High, you’ll be the voice that turns those asks into sprint priorities.
- • Model the culture we’re scaling: radical candor in deal reviews, meticulous note-taking in every CRM field, and a bias for sharing winning plays in our #sales-wins Slack channel so the entire org levels up.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years closing complex B2B SaaS or infrastructure software deals ≥ $250k ARR with evidence of consistent over-quota performance (≥ 125 %).
- • Proven track record selling to Fortune 1000 engineering or security leaders; existing relationships with CTOs, VPs of Engineering, or CISOs in the US-East region strongly preferred.
- • Deep fluency in modern software development workflows—Git, CI/CD, microservices, DevOps tooling—and the ability to whiteboard how Sourcegraph fits into a customer’s SDLC.
- • Mastery of MEDDPICC or similar enterprise sales methodology; comfortable building mutual close plans and running technical proof-of-concepts that convert at ≥ 70 %.
- • Authorization to work in the United States; willingness to travel up to 30 % for high-value onsite meetings and quarterly team gatherings.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive OTE with uncapped commission accelerators and equity in a fast-growing, category-defining company valued at $2.6 B.
- • Flexible, fully remote culture—work from anywhere in US-East time zones with a $2,000 home-office stipend and quarterly off-sites in places like Miami, NYC, or the Berkshires.
- • 100 % medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and dependents, plus a $500 quarterly wellness stipend and 16 weeks of paid parental leave.
- • Unlimited PTO with a mandatory 15-day minimum; we track “days off” not “days worked” and celebrate recharge stories in Slack.
