Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Are you an expert in Ngspice, the powerful open-source circuit simulator, and passionate about the future of artificial intelligence in engineering? Handshake Technologies, Inc. is seeking talented individuals with deep, hands-on experience in Ngspice to contribute to cutting-edge AI research. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your specialized knowledge in analog circuit simulation, SPICE modeling, and mixed-signal analysis in a flexible, project-based, hourly contract role. You will play a crucial role in shaping the development of AI tools designed to assist engineers in complex circuit design and simulation tasks.
  • • As an Ngspice Specialist - AI Trainer, your primary responsibility will be to evaluate and refine AI-generated content related to analog circuit design. This involves creating insightful questions that probe the AI's understanding of real-world engineering workflows and meticulously reviewing its responses for accuracy, relevance, and practical applicability. Your feedback will directly inform the AI's learning process, helping it to better grasp the nuances of SPICE modeling, mixed-signal analysis, and the broader electronics design ecosystem.
  • • This role is ideal for seasoned Ngspice users who have practical experience in fields such as Analog IC Design, Power Electronics Engineering, RF Engineering, Audio Electronics Design, PCB Design, or general Circuit Design Engineering. You will be instrumental in bridging the gap between human expertise and artificial intelligence, ensuring that AI tools are developed with a strong foundation in established engineering principles and practices.
  • • Your day-to-day activities will involve engaging with AI-generated prompts and outputs, applying your expert knowledge to identify areas of strength and weakness. You will be tasked with annotating and labeling circuit schematics and simulation results, providing clear and constructive feedback on performance metrics, design consistency, and adherence to industry standards. This is not a role that requires prior AI development experience; rather, it demands a profound understanding of the engineering domain itself.
  • • The work is entirely remote, offering unparalleled flexibility. You can contribute from anywhere in the USA with a reliable internet connection, fitting this contract work around your existing commitments. The schedule is asynchronous, meaning you can work when it suits you best, with no minimum hour requirement. Many contributors find they can comfortably dedicate between 5 to 20 hours per week, depending on project availability and their personal schedule.
  • • This is an ongoing, project-based opportunity, part of the Handshake AI program which operates year-round. As new projects emerge in various areas of expertise, you will be considered for placement based on current needs. This provides a continuous avenue for engaging and intellectually stimulating work, allowing you to remain involved in the evolution of AI in engineering.
  • • Your contributions will directly impact the development of sophisticated AI tools that aim to streamline and enhance the work of electrical engineers. By providing expert validation and feedback, you will help ensure these tools are reliable, efficient, and truly beneficial to the engineering community. This is a chance to be at the forefront of technological innovation, applying your specialized skills in a novel and impactful way.
  • • The ideal candidate possesses a strong command of analog circuit simulation concepts, understands the intricacies of SPICE models, and is familiar with common electronics workflows. Experience with Ngspice or similar tools like Qucs-S is paramount. Proficiency in mixed-signal analysis, digital circuit design, or signal integrity workflows will be highly valued. The ability to work independently, follow detailed written guidelines, and communicate findings clearly and concisely is essential for success in this role. While not strictly required, familiarity with programming languages such as Python, C, or MATLAB is considered a significant advantage, potentially enabling deeper engagement with certain project tasks.
  • • This is an independent contractor position, offering the freedom and autonomy associated with freelance work. Handshake Technologies, Inc. values your expertise and provides a platform for you to monetize your skills while contributing to a significant technological advancement. The application process is straightforward: create a Handshake account, upload your resume, verify your identity, and you'll be onboarded into relevant projects as they become available. Start contributing your valuable insights and earning on your own terms.
