📋 Description

• The Opal Platform Operations role at WeLoglobal Inc. ensures clients are configured, operational, and supported on the internal Opal platform without requiring direct AI/ML Engineering involvement for routine matters, serving as a critical bridge between client delivery and platform mechanics.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include configuring and maintaining platform environments across TMS platforms (XTM, Phrase, memoQ, Trados), managing MT engine connections, workflows, AIPE/AIQE parameters, and provider-level settings such as glossaries and model selection.
• The role acts as the primary diagnostics layer between production teams and AI/ML Engineering, investigating MT quality issues, identifying root causes (data, engine, pipeline, or TMS), and escalating with clear reproduction steps and context.
• The position supports pre-sales as an MT/AI subject matter expert by building ROI models, preparing QBR insights (edit distance trends, MT savings, cost usage), and advising clients on MT strategy, including engine selection and content suitability.
• The individual will identify and eliminate manual processes through automation by designing or building tools, scripts, and workflows that reduce human intervention and improve scalability—a core expectation of the role.
• WeLoglobal is a leader in multilingual AI, technology, and content solutions serving over 2,000 clients in 300 languages, with a network of over 500,000 linguists and domain experts, backed by seven ISO certifications and five specialized brands including Welocalize, Park IP, Welo Life Sciences, Adapt, and Welo Data.
• In this role, the candidate will develop deep expertise in multilingual MT operations, gain hands-on experience with enterprise TMS platforms, and grow their ability to translate technical platform capabilities into client-facing business value through data-driven insights and automation.

🎯 Requirements

• Hands-on experience with at least one major TMS (XTM, Phrase, memoQ, Trados), including configuration of MT integrations, workflows, and templates
• Strong understanding of XLIFF/MXLIFF formats and translation pipelines
• Experience integrating MT providers (e.g., Google AutoML, Microsoft Custom Translator, DeepL, Systran)
• Knowledge of MT customisation, including training data, model types (generic vs custom NMT), and quality drivers
• Familiarity with MT evaluation metrics (BLEU, TER, edit distance) and human evaluation frameworks
• Ability to navigate provider platforms and understand their capabilities, limitations, and pricing models
