ďż˝ Description
- • Own the operational heartbeat of Token Metrics Ventures as our Operating Chair & Independent Board Director, translating high-level strategy into disciplined, repeatable execution across engineering, quant, data science, DeFi, listings, and finance teams.
- • Design and enforce a rigorous meeting cadence—daily stand-ups, weekly OKR reviews, monthly board briefings, and quarterly deep-dive sessions—ensuring every squad ships against transparent KPI dashboards that are audit-ready and investor-facing.
- • Build and maintain real-time KPI dashboards that surface leading indicators (TVL growth, model accuracy, exchange uptime, token velocity) and lagging indicators (revenue, user retention, regulatory scorecards) so the board can course-correct within days, not quarters.
- • Serve as the neutral, crypto-savvy arbiter in cross-functional prioritization disputes, using data-driven frameworks (RICE, WSJF) to keep scarce engineering hours focused on the highest-impact protocol upgrades, data-pipeline enhancements, and yield-strategy deployments.
- • Establish airtight project-management discipline: Jira hygiene, Git-flow enforcement, SOC-2-compliant documentation, and post-mortems that convert every launch or incident into institutional knowledge rather than tribal lore.
- • Drive quarterly strategic off-sites that align technical roadmaps (L2 integrations, AI-model retraining cycles, new chain support) with token-economics milestones and regulatory calendars, ensuring the company never ships code that jeopardizes compliance or token-holder value.
- • Act as the board’s operational antenna: synthesize on-chain metrics, Discord sentiment, and macro-crypto signals into concise, decision-ready memos that let directors approve budgets, token grants, or M&A moves within 48 hours.
- • Institutionalize a culture of shipping—define “definition of done” for smart-contract upgrades, data-science model rollouts, and exchange listings so that every team member knows exactly when a feature graduates from staging to mainnet.
- • Create and maintain a risk register covering smart-contract audits, oracle dependencies, custodial counter-parties, and regulatory exposure; present heat-maps and mitigation playbooks at every board meeting.
- • Serve as the final escalation point for security incidents, coordinating war-room responses across engineering, legal, and comms teams while preserving evidence for insurers and regulators.
- • Oversee token-grant budgets and vesting schedules, ensuring equity and token incentives remain competitive against fast-moving market benchmarks without diluting long-term holders.
- • Coach functional leaders on operational excellence—run internal workshops on OKR writing, agile estimation, and incident command—raising the execution IQ of the entire organization.
- • Represent Token Metrics at industry working groups (DeFi Education Fund, Crypto Market Integrity Coalition), feeding regulatory and best-practice insights back into internal playbooks.
- • Maintain a living “runbook library” that documents every repeatable process—from spinning up a new validator node to launching a governance proposal—so the company scales without bottlenecks.
- • Champion a remote-first but high-trust culture: design lightweight rituals (async stand-ups via Loom, monthly virtual off-sites, annual in-person summits) that keep globally distributed contributors aligned and motivated.
- • Ensure all operational artifacts (roadmaps, dashboards, risk registers) are investor-grade and can withstand diligence from top-tier VCs, hedge funds, or strategic acquirers.
- • Translate complex DeFi mechanics (AMM liquidity curves, cross-chain bridges, MEV mitigation) into board-level narratives that non-technical directors can grok and defend to LPs.
- • Build a compliance calendar that maps every jurisdiction where TM operates, tracks evolving regulations (MiCA, FATF Travel Rule, CFTC guidance), and triggers proactive policy updates before deadlines hit.
- • Own the post-mortem culture: after every protocol exploit, data-pipeline outage, or listing delay, run blameless retrospectives that yield concrete process fixes and are memorialized in Notion for future hires.
- • Finally, embody the crypto-native ethos: hold assets in self-custody, participate in governance votes, and use the products you help build—because credibility in this space starts with skin in the game.
