- • Join the Operational and Technical Accounting Team at Intersect Technologies, Inc., a Google subsidiary focused on developing, constructing, and operating large-scale energy and data center infrastructure across the United States.
- • Support the accounting functions for complex energy and data center projects, including cost tracking, capital expenditure reporting, and project-level financial analysis tied to gigawatt-scale power and data infrastructure.
- • Collaborate with engineering, construction, and operations teams to ensure accurate financial recording of project costs, equipment purchases, and energy generation assets.
- • Prepare and reconcile detailed accounting records for co-located industrial demand and dedicated gas/renewable power generation facilities, ensuring compliance with industry-specific financial standards.
- • Assist in month-end and quarter-end close processes with a focus on technical accounting for long-term infrastructure assets, including depreciation schedules, asset capitalization, and intercompany allocations.
- • Work with external auditors and internal controllers to provide documentation and support for financial audits related to energy infrastructure projects.
- • Maintain accurate ledgers and financial systems for multiple simultaneous construction and operational sites across the U.S., ensuring real-time financial visibility for project teams.
- • Apply technical accounting knowledge to unique energy sector transactions, including power purchase agreements (PPAs), renewable energy credits (RECs), and tax incentive structures tied to infrastructure development.
- • Participate in cross-functional planning cycles to align financial forecasts with construction timelines, energy output projections, and operational milestones.
- • Leverage financial systems and tools to automate reporting and improve accuracy in tracking capital investments across distributed energy and data center assets.
- • Contribute to process improvements in accounting workflows specific to infrastructure development, including vendor invoice processing, contract payment tracking, and asset lifecycle accounting.
- • Engage in team-wide gatherings four times annually during Team Week events and at one of Intersect’s Hub locations: SF Bay Area, NYC Metro Area, Denver, CO, Austin, TX, Calgary, AB, or Toronto, ON — while maintaining a fully flexible remote work model.
- • Operate within a culture that values deepening social connections and shared experiences, with a preference for candidates located within 60 miles of any listed Hub to enable in-person collaboration when desired.
- • Support the company’s mission to preserve the planet through innovative energy solutions by ensuring precise financial stewardship of high-impact infrastructure projects.
- • Adapt quickly to a fast-paced, high-growth environment where accounting practices must scale alongside rapidly expanding energy and data center development.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- • Proven experience in technical accounting within energy, infrastructure, or industrial sectors
- • Strong understanding of GAAP and capital asset accounting for large-scale projects
- • Proficiency in ERP or financial systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle)
- • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across remote teams
- • Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites or Hub locations
