  • • The Operations Community at Alan is fundamental to our success, tasked with scaling our insurance and health services. This involves building robust platform and operational capabilities and meticulously running our processes to ensure both member delight and operational efficiency.
  • • Joining the Operations team means becoming part of a dynamic group of over 50 talented, committed, and passionate individuals across our various countries. You will collaborate extensively with Engineering, Product, Care, and numerous other teams within Alan.
  • • Our Operations team comprises a blend of 'Builder' profiles, dedicated to redesigning and implementing our processes, and 'Operations Coordinators' who execute these processes daily while simultaneously identifying opportunities for enhancement.
  • • We are committed to fostering a culture where team members deliver excellence to our client companies and members, and are empowered to disrupt traditional insurance and healthcare service models, rather than merely upgrading existing ones.
  • • As an Operations Coordinator, you will make an immediate impact by working on our core Insurance offering from day one.
  • • Your key responsibilities will include operating all of our insurance processes, which involves meticulously handling member claims, deepening our understanding of complex cases, implementing new benefits plans, and spearheading automation initiatives across the entire claims lifecycle.
  • • You will also own the comprehensive monitoring scheme designed to track volumes, efficiency, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs), proactively identifying risks and areas for improvement, both internally and in collaboration with our service providers.
  • • A critical part of your role will be managing the monthly billing process for all Alan Canada customers, including developing strategies to effectively handle complex payroll scenarios.
  • • You will be responsible for escalating feedback, assisting in prioritizing initiatives, and supporting efforts to enhance the overall delight and efficiency of our processes and services.
  • • In addition to managing and monitoring our day-to-day operations, you will dedicate approximately 20-30% of your time to leading continuous improvement initiatives, working closely with our Product and Care teams.
  • • This role presents a unique opportunity to join an early-stage rocketship and be a founding member of our Canadian team. You will play a pivotal role in launching a global healthcare player in Canada, driving a generational change in how Canadians experience healthcare.
  • • You will have the chance to navigate the most learningful and exciting stages of building a Healthtech success story, progressing from an initial launch (0 to 1) to significant scale (1 to 10 and beyond), mirroring our past successes in other countries with hundreds of thousands of members.

  • • We are seeking individuals who possess at least 2-3 years of experience in a fast-paced environment, with a preference for start-up and scale-up settings where adaptability and a willingness to wear multiple hats are essential.
  • • Full fluency in English is required; French proficiency is considered a plus but not a mandatory requirement.
  • • You should be a keen problem-solver and challenger, driven by a 'dig deep' mindset and a passion for member and customer satisfaction.
  • • Exceptional organizational skills, meticulous follow-up abilities, and a strong attention to detail are crucial for success in this role.
  • • The ability to work and learn independently in a rapidly evolving environment is paramount.
  • • Ideal candidates will also possess experience in the healthcare insurance or SaaS industry, along with some analytical skills to effectively delve into our data.
