Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Deliver life-changing care from anywhere in Oregon as a Telehealth Substance Use Disorder Counselor with Affect, a fast-growing digital health company that is redefining how people recover from opioid, stimulant, alcohol, and cannabis use disorders.
- • Provide up to 25 hours per week of HIPAA-compliant individual and group counseling via secure video and chat, meeting Members where they are—at home, at work, or on the go—while maintaining the same clinical rigor and compassion found in traditional brick-and-mortar programs.
- • Develop, document, and continually refine person-centered treatment plans that integrate evidence-based modalities such as CBT, MI, and contingency management, ensuring every Member receives care that is culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and tailored to co-occurring mental health conditions.
- • Facilitate engaging psycho-educational and process groups that foster peer support, reduce isolation, and teach concrete relapse-prevention skills, while leveraging Affect’s mobile platform to reinforce learning between sessions through interactive exercises and real-time check-ins.
- • Collaborate seamlessly with an interdisciplinary care team that includes physicians, nurse practitioners, peer recovery coaches, and care coordinators, participating in weekly case conferences to review progress, adjust medications, and remove social barriers such as housing, transportation, or employment.
- • Utilize Affect’s proprietary dashboard to track Member engagement, outcome metrics, and clinical alerts, translating data into actionable insights that improve retention, reduce crisis events, and demonstrate measurable impact to payers and community stakeholders.
- • Maintain 100% compliance with Oregon state regulations, federal 42 CFR Part 2, and DEA telehealth guidelines, completing timely documentation, treatment-plan updates, and incident reports that withstand both internal QA audits and external accreditation reviews.
- • Serve as a trusted advocate for harm-reduction strategies, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and recovery-oriented systems of care, educating Members, families, and community partners on the science of addiction and the value of long-term recovery support.
- • Participate in monthly continuing-education sessions and quarterly clinical supervision, sharpening your expertise in digital therapeutics, motivational technology, and emerging best practices for treating stimulant and polysubstance use disorders.
- • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion by ensuring services are accessible to rural, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and justice-involved populations, actively contributing to Affect’s mission of eliminating disparities in addiction treatment outcomes across Oregon.
🎯 Requirements
- • Current and unrestricted Oregon license as a CADC I, CADC II, CADC III, LPC, LMFT, LCSW, or equivalent credential that authorizes independent or supervised telehealth substance-use counseling.
- • Minimum of one year post-licensure experience providing individual and group counseling to adults with diagnosed substance use disorders; familiarity with opioid, stimulant, alcohol, and cannabis use patterns strongly preferred.
- • Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and contingency management, with the ability to adapt interventions to virtual environments.
- • Comfortable with technology: reliable high-speed internet, a private workspace, and the ability to navigate telehealth platforms, EHR systems, and outcome dashboards with minimal IT support.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Fully remote, flexible scheduling that allows you to balance personal commitments while delivering meaningful care; choose the hours that work best for you and your Members.
- • Competitive hourly compensation commensurate with licensure level and experience, plus quarterly performance bonuses tied to Member engagement and clinical outcomes.
- • Comprehensive benefits package for part-time employees (20+ hrs/wk) including medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k) with company match; all employees receive free access to Affect’s digital wellness tools and an annual professional-development stipend.
