📋 Description

• Join Taxbit as a Paralegal and become the legal backbone of a fast-growing fintech that is defining how the world handles digital-asset compliance. You will sit at the intersection of law, finance, and technology, translating complex regulatory requirements into practical, scalable processes that protect our customers and accelerate our product roadmap.
• Own the full contract lifecycle—from intake through negotiation, redlining, execution, and renewal—across SaaS subscription agreements, NDAs, DPAs, vendor MSAs, partnership addenda, and marketing collaborations. You will maintain our contract repository in Ironclad (or similar CLM), ensuring every clause, amendment, and schedule is searchable, version-controlled, and audit-ready.
• Serve as the first point of contact for Sales, Customer Success, Finance, and Engineering when legal questions arise. You will triage requests in Slack and Jira, draft initial responses, and escalate only when strategic judgment or regulatory expertise is required, cutting average deal-cycle time by 20 %.
• Build and continuously refine a playbook of pre-approved fallback positions, clause libraries, and risk matrices that empower non-lawyers to move faster without compromising compliance. Your templates will be used by 100+ employees across three continents.
• Coordinate with outside counsel on specialized matters—securities law, state money-transmitter licensing, international data-transfer frameworks, and emerging crypto guidance—while managing budgets, timelines, and deliverables so that internal teams stay focused on core priorities.
• Monitor global regulatory developments (IRS, SEC, CFTC, FCA, MiCA, FATF, OECD) and distill weekly intelligence briefs for executives and product managers. When new rules drop, you will map impacted product features, draft customer-facing FAQs, and update terms of service within days, not weeks.
• Support corporate governance by preparing board consents, maintaining cap-table accuracy in Carta, and ensuring subsidiary qualifications remain current in all jurisdictions where Taxbit operates. You will also coordinate annual meetings, draft minutes, and manage D&O insurance renewals.
• Lead privacy and data-protection initiatives: conduct DPIAs, draft privacy notices, manage DSAR workflows, and oversee SOC 2 and ISO 27001 evidence collection. Your work will directly influence how millions of user transactions are anonymized, encrypted, and stored.
• Partner with Finance to ensure revenue-recognition compliance under ASC 606, reviewing order forms for contingent performance obligations and milestone-based deliverables. You will reconcile executed contracts to Salesforce opportunities and flag discrepancies before month-end close.
• Champion a culture of legal enablement by hosting quarterly lunch-and-learns on topics like "Crypto Tax 101 for Engineers" and "Negotiating Liability Caps for Sales." Your slide decks and cheat sheets will become go-to resources across the company.
• Contribute to ESG and DEI initiatives by drafting supplier codes of conduct, reviewing grant agreements for community partnerships, and ensuring all employment policies reflect best-in-class inclusive language.
• Embrace a fully remote, asynchronous workflow: document decisions in Notion, run Zoom stand-ups that respect global time zones, and use Loom videos to explain nuanced redlines. You will travel twice a year for company-wide summits in Salt Lake City or London.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of paralegal or contracts-administrator experience in SaaS, fintech, or a high-growth technology company
• Demonstrated fluency with digital-asset terminology (DeFi, staking, airdrops, forks) and associated regulatory frameworks
• Advanced proficiency in contract-lifecycle-management platforms (Ironclad, DocuSign CLM, or equivalent) and Salesforce CPQ
• Bachelor’s degree, ABA-approved paralegal certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Nice-to-have: CIPP/US or CIPP/E privacy certification, familiarity with SQL or Python for data extraction, and experience supporting international subsidiaries
