📋 Description

• The Patient Accounting Coordinator 1 is responsible for all aspects of patient billing and collection processing in compliance with departmental policies and procedures, ensuring accurate and timely handling of patient financial transactions within the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s Revenue Cycle.
• Day-to-day duties include payment posting, cash reconciliation, refund/credit processing, insurance follow-up, customer service in a call center setting, self-pay collections, and claim submission, all aimed at supporting the collection of net revenue for services rendered.
• The role is part of the Health System Shared Services | Patient Accounting department, which manages the full revenue cycle including pre-registration, registration, financial clearance, billing, claims follow-up, and cash collection to ensure financial integrity and patient satisfaction.
• This position offers the opportunity to develop expertise in healthcare revenue cycle operations, gain hands-on experience with patient accounting systems, and build foundational skills in financial processing, customer service, and compliance within a large academic medical center.

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• PC knowledge and proficiency
• Interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Minimum 6 months of experience in customer service or a healthcare environment
