  • • As a Patient Outreach Specialist Pharmacy Technician at Shields Health Solutions, you will play a vital role in expanding access to specialty pharmacy services by proactively contacting eligible patients and guiding them to enroll in the Shields Partner Pharmacy program, directly impacting patient care and health outcomes.
  • • Your day-to-day responsibilities include making outbound phone calls to patients, reviewing their electronic medical records (EMR) to understand their conditions, educating them on the benefits of the Shields Specialty Pharmacy Program, identifying medication-specific storage and handling needs (such as refrigeration or hazardous materials), and determining required supplies like sharps containers or syringes.
  • • You will join a mission-driven team at Shields Health Solutions, a company dedicated to improving patient access to specialty medications through innovative pharmacy programs, with a strong emphasis on patient advocacy, confidentiality, and quality care.
  • • In this role, you will develop strong patient communication and advocacy skills, gain hands-on experience with EMR systems and pharmacy operations, and have the opportunity to earn national PTCB or ExCPT certification through employer-sponsored training within six months of hire, advancing your career as a pharmacy technician.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Active national pharmacy certification (PTCB or ExCPT) or commitment to obtain within a mutually agreed timeframe
  • • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree or certification strongly preferred
  • • 0-1 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician or in related customer service/outbound call roles
  • • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ability to learn new systems quickly
  • • Strong verbal communication, phone skills, and ability to build rapport with patients empathetically
