  • • As a Payments Operations Associate at Tapcheck Inc., you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of payment processing for a fast-growing fintech company dedicated to improving financial wellness through on-demand earnings access. Your work directly supports the company’s mission by enabling timely, compliant, and error-free financial transactions that empower employees and strengthen employer partnerships.
  • • You will serve as a key operational link between customers, internal teams, and financial systems, resolving inquiries, validating payroll data, processing refunds, and identifying discrepancies to maintain the integrity of Tapcheck’s payment ecosystem in a hybrid, Plano-based environment requiring in-office presence Tuesday through Thursday.

  • • In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in payment reconciliation, financial operations, and compliance within a regulated fintech environment, developing expertise in payroll systems, A/R management, and financial reporting while contributing to process improvements that enhance scalability and customer satisfaction.
  • • Respond to client questions and help resolve basic support issues via email, phone, or ticketing systems, ensuring timely and accurate communication that maintains high customer satisfaction and trust in Tapcheck’s platform.
  • • Assist with daily payroll checks to validate employee earnings data, timekeeping inputs, and deduction accuracy before processing, reducing errors and ensuring on-time disbursement of earned wages.
  • • Help process refunds, returns, and financial transactions in accordance with company policies and regulatory guidelines, maintaining audit trails and documentation for all adjustments.
  • • Identify and flag discrepancies in payment batches, reconciliation reports, or system alerts for further review by senior operations or finance teams, acting as a first line of defense against financial inaccuracies.
  • • Support collection efforts and follow up on outstanding items, including failed payments or delayed reimbursements, by contacting customers or internal stakeholders to resolve issues promptly.
  • • Work with internal teams and partners to track and manage accounts receivable (A/R) aging, ensuring timely follow-up on overdue invoices and contributing to healthy cash flow management.
  • • Help document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and keep records up to date in knowledge bases or shared drives, supporting team training, audit readiness, and operational consistency.
  • • Assist in monitoring system performance and reporting issues related to payment processing platforms, APIs, or internal tools, escalating technical concerns to IT or product teams as needed.
  • • Follow company policies and ensure compliance with financial regulations, including NACHA, state wage payment laws, and data security standards, participating in internal audits and control assessments.
  • • Support team projects aimed at improving operations, such as automation initiatives, workflow optimizations, or system migrations, by providing operational insights and testing new processes.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics preferred
  • • At least 1-2 years of experience in financial services, operations, payroll, or related fields
  • • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools, including advanced functions like VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data validation
  • • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks accurately under deadlines
  • • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance
  • • Interest in financial operations, payments, or payroll processes, with exposure to payroll or payment systems considered a plus
  • • Ability to work from the Plano, TX office three days per week (Tuesday–Thursday) as required by the hybrid work model
