• • As a Payments Risk Analyst II at Coinbase, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the company's financial integrity by identifying, investigating, and mitigating fraudulent deposit activity across critical payment rails. This remote position, based in the USA, reports to the Manager of Payments Risk for North America and is integral to maintaining the trust and security of our platform.
• • Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement sophisticated logic designed to target and neutralize bad actors and high-risk behaviors associated with unauthorized deposit activities. This requires a deep understanding of evolving fraud tactics and the ability to translate that knowledge into effective preventative measures.
• • You will leverage data extensively to assess risk, making informed decisions that can impact large segments of our customer base. A key aspect of this role involves the quantitative analysis of these decisions, meticulously measuring and evaluating the associated tradeoffs to ensure that risk mitigation efforts do not negatively impact core business metrics or the broader customer experience.
• • A significant part of your contribution will involve synthesizing complex data learnings into clear, compelling narratives. These insights will be communicated effectively to Payments Risk leadership, informing strategic decisions and highlighting emerging trends.
• • You will be on the front lines of defense, reviewing and responding to real-time alerts generated by anomalous customer and transaction behavior. This requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to act swiftly and decisively.
• • A crucial element of the role is the measurement of fraud performance across various payment methods. This includes developing core metrics, establishing benchmarks, and creating comprehensive dashboards to track, understand, and report on these key performance indicators.
