📋 Description

  • Join Confluent, a trailblazer in data streaming technology, and play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our payroll operations across the dynamic APJ region. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced, high-growth environment where your expertise in payroll processing will directly impact our global team's experience and our company's financial integrity. As a Payroll Analyst on a contract basis, you will be instrumental in supporting daily payroll activities, collaborating with external payroll vendors and internal stakeholders, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Your core responsibility will be to meticulously support the distribution and review of payrolls for our employees throughout the APAC regions. This involves a keen eye for detail, ensuring all calculations, deductions, and payments are accurate and compliant with local regulations. You will be the go-to person for ensuring that our payroll processes are not only efficient but also adhere to the highest standards of accuracy, contributing to the overall financial health and employee satisfaction of the company.
  • A significant aspect of your role will involve providing direct support to employees through our enquiry ticketing system, likely JIRA. You will address payroll-related queries, resolve issues promptly, and maintain clear, professional communication. This daily interaction is crucial for building trust and ensuring our employees feel supported and informed about their compensation.
  • You will be responsible for the diligent completion and adherence to established payroll processing checklists and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). This ensures that all critical steps are followed consistently, minimizing errors and delays, and maintaining operational efficiency. Your commitment to these processes will be vital in upholding our operational standards and ensuring a smooth payroll cycle.
  • A key focus will be on ensuring that operational and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) controls are properly performed within the payroll process. This involves understanding and executing internal controls designed to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting. Your diligence in this area will be critical for maintaining compliance and mitigating risks.
  • You will actively participate in the financial administration of payroll by entering approved payroll payments into our global banking platform. This task requires a high degree of accuracy and trustworthiness, as it directly impacts the disbursement of funds to our employees and vendors.
  • Prepare the monthly accounting journal entries required to pass payroll-related financial data to our international accounting teams. This involves understanding payroll accounting principles and accurately translating payroll data into financial entries that integrate seamlessly with our global financial systems. Your contribution here is essential for accurate financial reporting.
  • You will be tasked with preparing payroll reconciliations as required. This involves comparing payroll data with general ledger accounts and other financial records to identify and resolve any discrepancies, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our payroll financial data.
  • Assist with monthly flux analyses, providing detailed support to the international accounting team. This requires you to analyze variances in payroll expenses and provide clear explanations and supporting documentation, enabling the accounting team to understand and report on financial performance accurately.
  • Support the transition to a global payroll service provider. This is a critical project where your experience and insights will be invaluable in ensuring a smooth and successful handover of payroll responsibilities, potentially involving process documentation, testing, and training.
  • This role demands a proactive and adaptable individual who thrives in a high-growth, dynamic setting. You must possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a genuine willingness to take initiative and contribute wherever needed. A positive, "can-do" attitude is essential for navigating the challenges and opportunities of working at Confluent.
  • As a contract Payroll Analyst, you will be a vital part of our finance and operations team, contributing to the seamless functioning of our global payroll. Your dedication to accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement will be highly valued as we continue to scale and innovate in the data streaming space.

🎯 Requirements
