- • Deel is at the forefront of the global work revolution, and we're seeking a meticulous and dedicated Payroll Associate to join our dynamic team in Japan. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual eager to build a foundational career in payroll operations within a rapidly growing, globally distributed company. As the fastest-growing SaaS company in history, Deel is transforming how businesses hire, manage, and pay global talent, and you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our Japanese payroll.
- • In this entry-level role, you will be instrumental in supporting the day-to-day operations of our payroll processes. Your primary focus will be on precise data entry, diligent record maintenance, and assisting with fundamental payroll processing tasks. You will work closely with the broader payroll and HR teams, ensuring that all activities are conducted with the utmost confidentiality and in strict adherence to Japanese payroll regulations and Deel's internal policies. This position is designed to provide you with comprehensive training and hands-on experience, setting you up for success and growth within the payroll domain.
- • Your responsibilities will encompass a range of critical tasks, including assisting in the accurate processing of payroll data for our employees in Japan. This involves meticulously inputting and verifying information related to salaries, wages, bonuses, and any other compensation components. You will be a key player in maintaining the integrity of our employee records, ensuring that all information is up-to-date, accurate, and securely stored. This includes managing changes in employee status, personal details, and compensation adjustments.
- • A significant part of your role will involve the verification and reconciliation of employee data. You will be tasked with cross-referencing various data points to ensure consistency and accuracy, paying close attention to details such as hours worked, overtime, leave entitlements, and statutory deductions. This meticulous reconciliation process is vital for preventing errors and ensuring that employees are paid correctly and on time.
- • You will also provide essential support with Japan payroll tax calculations and filings. While this is an entry-level role, you will gain exposure to the complexities of Japanese tax laws as they apply to payroll. You will assist in gathering necessary information, performing basic calculations under supervision, and ensuring that all required documentation for tax submissions is prepared accurately and submitted within deadlines. This is a fantastic learning opportunity to understand the intricacies of payroll tax compliance in Japan.
- • Furthermore, you will be a point of contact for employees seeking assistance with payroll-related questions and issues. You will respond to inquiries in a professional and timely manner, providing clear explanations and resolutions. This requires a good understanding of our payroll system and policies, as well as empathy and strong communication skills. You will help to troubleshoot minor payroll discrepancies and escalate more complex issues to senior team members when necessary.
- • Maintaining compliance with Japanese payroll laws and regulations is paramount. You will assist in staying informed about any changes in legislation that may affect payroll processing and help implement necessary adjustments to our processes. This includes understanding and applying rules related to social insurance, labor insurance, and income tax withholding.
- • Deel's mission is to unlock global opportunity, and our payroll operations are the backbone of this mission. By ensuring our Japanese employees are paid accurately and compliantly, you contribute directly to our vision of enabling businesses to scale smarter and faster. You will be part of a supportive and innovative environment where continuous learning and professional development are encouraged. This role offers a unique chance to grow with a company that is redefining the future of work, providing you with invaluable experience and career acceleration at the forefront of the global employment landscape.
- • As part of a globally distributed team, you'll collaborate with colleagues across different time zones and cultures, fostering a rich and diverse working environment. Your attention to detail, commitment to accuracy, and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion will be highly valued. This is more than just a job; it's an opportunity to be part of a company that is making a tangible impact on the lives of millions of workers worldwide, all while developing your expertise in a critical business function.
