- • Bjak Sdn. Bhd. is at the forefront of building superior application platforms with a global vision to foster successful businesses and contribute positively to society through enhanced efficiency. We have pioneered the first and leading insurance platform in Southeast Asia, successfully digitizing the insurance industry and currently serving over 8 million users across the region. Our mission continues as we expand into new, emerging use cases, integrating cutting-edge AI to create even more powerful applications. Our team is characterized by its exceptional talent, high motivation, and a shared focus on engineering and product excellence within a remarkably flat organizational structure. Every team member is expected to be hands-on, directly contributing to the company’s overarching mission and strategic objectives.
- • As a Payroll & Benefits Analyst at Bjak, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant execution of payroll and benefits for our employees in Malaysia and designated international locations. This is a position that demands the highest levels of precision and trust, where you will be entrusted with the complete ownership of the payroll lifecycle. Your responsibilities will encompass end-to-end payroll processing, meticulous adherence to statutory compliance, effective coordination with external vendors, and the implementation of robust payroll controls. The ultimate goal is to guarantee that every employee receives their correct compensation on time, without exception, in every payroll cycle. You will collaborate closely with various internal departments, including People Operations, HR Business Partners, and Finance, as well as external partners, to support Bjak's continuous growth and expansion across diverse markets.
- • Your core responsibilities will include owning the entire monthly payroll processing cycle for Malaysia and other assigned regional markets. This involves meticulously validating all payroll inputs, such as new joiners, employee exits, various allowances, incentive payouts, expense claims, attendance records, and any applicable deductions, ensuring absolute accuracy and completeness. A critical aspect of your role will be managing all statutory submissions and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, including but not limited to EPF, SOCSO, EIS, and income tax requirements, as well as their international equivalents. You will be the guardian of payroll integrity, ensuring that all payroll processes strictly adhere to local labor laws and regulatory mandates in each operating jurisdiction.
- • Prior to any payroll disbursement, you will conduct thorough payroll checks, detailed reconciliations, and rigorous validations. This meticulous process is essential for maintaining strong internal controls and ensuring that all documentation is audit-ready at all times. You will be responsible for processing salary adjustments, promotions, bonus payouts, various allowances, and any ad-hoc payments. Each of these transactions must be handled with the utmost accuracy and absolute confidentiality, reflecting the sensitive nature of payroll data.
- • Effective vendor management will be a key component of your role. You will be tasked with coordinating and managing payroll vendors, regional payroll partners, and Employer of Record (EOR) providers. This includes validating their outputs, proactively resolving any discrepancies that may arise, and rigorously enforcing Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to ensure consistent service quality and timely delivery.
- • You will also be responsible for preparing comprehensive payroll reports, detailed reconciliations, and essential documentation for various stakeholders, including HR, Finance, and senior management. These reports will provide critical insights and support for audits, financial budgeting processes, and compensation analysis initiatives. Furthermore, you will actively identify any gaps or inefficiencies within existing payroll workflows. Your proactive approach will be instrumental in supporting the development and implementation of improved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), driving automation initiatives, and ensuring seamless integration with our Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to be a key player in a rapidly growing, innovative company. You will contribute directly to the financial well-being of our employees and the operational efficiency of Bjak, ensuring that our people operations are world-class as we scale globally. Your work will have a direct impact on employee satisfaction and the company's ability to attract and retain top talent across all our markets.
