• Join Remote, a pioneering company revolutionizing global employment, as a Payroll Lead within our dynamic Global Payroll Operations Team. This is an exceptional opportunity to make a significant impact in the rapidly evolving world of international payroll and compliance.
• As a Payroll Lead, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of payroll for our diverse, globally distributed workforce. You will serve as a subject matter expert, guiding and supporting payroll operations across various regions.
• Your core responsibility will be to manage end-to-end payroll processes, including statutory filings, exception handling, approvals, and payment disbursements. This requires a meticulous approach to data integrity and quality assurance at every stage.
• You will act as a key stakeholder, fostering strong relationships with internal teams such as Payroll Implementation, Finance, Product, and Engineering. Your collaboration will be crucial in identifying and implementing process improvements and ensuring seamless integration of payroll functions with other business systems.
• A significant aspect of this role involves driving efficiency and continuous improvement. You will be expected to identify opportunities for automation and leverage AI capabilities to streamline payroll operations, reduce manual effort, and enhance accuracy. • You will be responsible for accounting and reconciliation tasks, ensuring that all payroll-related financial data is accurate and balanced. This includes performing regular reconciliations and investigating any discrepancies.
• Performance management is key; you will focus on meeting and exceeding Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for payroll operations, ensuring high standards of service delivery.
• Beyond operational execution, you will play a vital role in mentoring and supporting other payroll specialists. Your expertise and guidance will help develop the skills and knowledge of the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
• In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will provide backup support to regional managers during periods of absence, ensuring continuity of operations and consistent support for the team.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience in payroll management or an equivalent role, with a strong understanding of payroll best practices.
• Proficiency in using payroll software and tools, including experience with systems like SAP and advanced skills in Excel/Google Sheets.
• Demonstrated analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities, capable of identifying and resolving complex payroll issues.
• Strong automation and AI capabilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing efficiency improvements.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills, essential for a globally distributed, asynchronous team.
