Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the end-to-end payroll cycle for Slovakia, ensuring 100 % accuracy and statutory compliance for 200+ employees paid in EUR and other currencies. You will be the single point of contact for all Slovak payroll matters, from data collection to final payslip distribution.
- • Design and continuously refine payroll processes that scale with Remote’s hyper-growth. You will map current workflows, identify bottlenecks, and implement automation (e.g., RPA, API integrations) to cut processing time by 30 % within your first year.
- • Partner with Finance, People Ops, Legal, and external vendors to guarantee on-time tax filings, social-insurance declarations, and year-end reports to the Slovak authorities. You will maintain a living calendar of deadlines and own the audit trail for every submission.
- • Serve as the resident expert on Slovak labor law, income-tax regulations, and social-security rules. When legislation changes, you will translate complex statutes into plain-language guidance for managers and employees, and update internal policies within 48 hours.
- • Lead monthly payroll reconciliation and variance analysis, spotting trends in overtime, bonuses, or allowances that could signal policy misuse or inequity. You will present findings to leadership and recommend data-driven adjustments.
- • Manage relationships with local payroll providers, auditors, and government offices. You will negotiate SLAs, monitor KPIs, and escalate issues before they become risks, ensuring Remote remains a trusted employer in Slovakia.
- • Coach and mentor a junior payroll analyst, building their technical skills and compliance mindset. You will create SOPs, run lunch-and-learn sessions, and foster a culture of continuous improvement across the Total Rewards team.
- • Collaborate with Product & Engineering to test new features in Remote’s proprietary payroll platform. Your frontline feedback will directly influence roadmap priorities and user-experience enhancements for thousands of global users.
- • Champion Remote’s pay-equity philosophy by running regular gender- and geo-based audits. You will partner with People Analytics to close gaps and publish transparent reports that reinforce our employer-brand promise.
- • Drive cross-border projects—such as secondments, stock-option exercises, or shadow payrolls—ensuring Slovak employees remain compliant when working abroad or receiving foreign income.
- • Prepare board-level dashboards that translate payroll metrics into business insights: cost-per-employee, turnover impact, and forecast accuracy. Your storytelling will empower executives to make strategic talent decisions.
- • Cultivate an inclusive remote-first culture by hosting virtual office hours, writing wiki articles, and translating key documents into Slovak and English. You will make every teammate feel confident about their pay, no matter where they log in from.
