Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • As the Payroll Manager for LATAM at Clio, you will be instrumental in leading and overseeing all aspects of payroll operations across multiple Latin American countries, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This pivotal role sits within the Total Rewards team, a crucial part of the broader People Team, dedicated to delivering an exceptional and reliable pay experience for every employee globally.
- • Your primary responsibility will be to manage end-to-end payroll delivery and governance for countries including, but not limited to, Uruguay, Costa Rica, Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, and Chile. This involves meticulous attention to detail in managing payroll calendars, processing cutoffs, obtaining necessary approvals, performing thorough reconciliations, and resolving any payroll-related issues promptly.
- • A significant part of your role will be to champion and enforce compliance across all LATAM payroll operations. This includes ensuring adherence to local tax regulations, statutory reporting requirements, managing withholdings and deductions accurately, and staying abreast of employment law mandates that impact payroll. You will also be responsible for understanding and managing any Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) or union impacts on payroll where applicable.
- • You will play a key role in standardizing and de-risking the current payroll landscape, which is a mix of local accounting firms, in-country processing methods, and various vendors. This involves developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), strengthening internal controls, refining input and approval processes, and enhancing reconciliation practices.
- • Simultaneously, you will be actively involved in preparing these payroll populations for upcoming implementations of new payroll platforms, specifically CloudPay and Remote. This requires close collaboration with the Payroll Implementation Specialist to manage regulatory changes, monitor vendor performance, and drive payroll transformation initiatives. Your involvement will span from CloudPay migrations and Workday integration workstreams to conducting parallel runs, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), managing the go-live process, and providing hypercare support.
- • You will also lead the coordination of payroll accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy of benefits premium payments. This includes managing funding, accruals, and providing support for General Ledger (GL) mapping in partnership with the Finance and Accounting teams. A critical aspect is ensuring that benefits premiums are correctly recorded, taxed, and reconciled within the new payroll systems (Remote and/or CloudPay).
- • As a leader, you will be responsible for managing and developing the payroll team, fostering a high-performance culture, and providing mentorship and guidance. You will also serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on payroll matters, providing support and insights to People Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and hiring managers across the organization.
- • This role demands a strategic, hands-on approach, balancing the immediate needs of payroll delivery with the long-term vision of building scalable, standardized, and compliant payroll processes. Your ability to navigate complexity, drive change, and collaborate effectively across departments will be crucial for success.
- • You will be a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution of issues. Your expertise will be vital in maintaining the trust and confidence of employees in the payroll system, contributing directly to their overall well-being and engagement.
- • By taking ownership of these critical functions, you will directly contribute to Clio's mission of transforming the legal experience by ensuring that legal professionals and law firms can focus on their work, knowing their payroll is handled with the utmost care and precision.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of payroll operations in a rapidly growing global company, leveraging technology and best practices to create a world-class employee experience.
- • You will be expected to maintain a strong compliance mindset, ensuring that all payroll activities adhere to the highest ethical and legal standards in each country of operation.
- • Your leadership will extend to fostering a collaborative environment within the payroll team and across other departments, ensuring seamless integration of payroll processes with HRIS, Finance, and other relevant systems.
- • The successful candidate will be adept at managing multiple priorities, deadlines, and projects simultaneously, demonstrating exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
- • You will be a key contributor to the continuous improvement of payroll processes, identifying opportunities for automation, efficiency gains, and enhanced employee self-service capabilities.
- • Ultimately, your work will directly impact the financial well-being and trust of Clio's employees across Latin America, reinforcing the company's commitment to its people.
