📋 Description

• • As the Payroll Risk & Compliance Principal for the Nordics, you hold formal statutory responsibility in Norway as the named Oppdragsansvarlig under the Norwegian Accountants Act, making you personally accountable for payroll compliance across Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland.
• • Your day-to-day responsibilities include holding personal statutory accountability for Norwegian payroll assignments, embedding Nordic legislation into product logic and systems, translating complex legal requirements into scalable operational and technical design, leading audits and regulatory readiness across the region, and mentoring compliance capability organisation-wide.
• • You will work closely with Product, Engineering, Design, Legal, and Operations teams to ensure compliance is architected into Remote’s payroll platform from the ground up, blending deep subject-matter expertise with strategic systems thinking and innovation in automation and AI-assisted tooling.
• • In this role, you will shape global compliance frameworks, build thought leadership through documentation and industry engagement, develop future compliance leaders via coaching programs, and drive innovation in rule-building and AI-assisted compliance tooling while operating in a fully distributed, async-first environment.
