📋 Description

  • Embark on a pivotal role as a Payroll Specialist EMEA at Pebl Technologies Inc., a company at the forefront of revolutionizing global employment through its AI-powered Global Work Platform™. In this dynamic position, you will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless and compliant execution of payroll operations across the EMEA region, directly contributing to Pebl's mission of empowering businesses to hire, pay, and manage talent in over 185 countries with unparalleled ease and confidence.
  • This role is designed for a high-velocity, results-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses a keen ability to adapt and innovate. You will be a key player in supporting our global client service team, meticulously handling payroll administration and championing best practices to resolve complex client challenges.
  • Your primary responsibility will involve the accurate and timely execution of weekly and monthly payroll functions for our Employer of Record (EOR) services. This encompasses managing employee inquiries with empathy and efficiency, conducting thorough payroll audits to ensure data integrity, generating essential reports for stakeholders, and actively participating in new entity payroll setup projects.
  • A significant aspect of your role will be the direct processing of payroll for the EMEA region. This requires a deep understanding of regional payroll legislation, tax regulations, and year-end processes to ensure absolute compliance and accuracy.
  • You will act as a crucial liaison, coordinating payroll activities with external payroll vendors (MSPs/ICPs) and internal Finance teams. This collaborative effort ensures that all payroll inputs are prepared correctly, outputs are meticulously reviewed, and audit results are thoroughly examined, with strict adherence to established payroll calendars.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of payroll updates is paramount. You will be responsible for processing all changes, including new hires, terminations, bonus payouts, and pay rate adjustments, with precision and within designated timelines.
  • A strong controls mindset is essential. You will be tasked with following and implementing SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls to maintain the highest standards of financial integrity and operational compliance.
  • Maintaining comprehensive and accurate payroll records and reports is a core duty. This involves diligently entering data into various databases and spreadsheets, ensuring that all information is up-to-date and easily accessible for reporting and auditing purposes.
  • Compliance with all relevant tax and regulatory requirements across multiple EMEA countries is a non-negotiable aspect of this role. You will achieve this by partnering closely with MSPs/ICPs and internal departments such as Finance, People Operations, Benefits, and Legal.
  • You will provide critical support for both internal and external audits, promptly supplying all necessary records and documentation to facilitate a smooth and efficient audit process.
  • A significant part of your contribution will be collaborating cross-functionally to swiftly and effectively resolve employee inquiries related to payroll, expense reporting, and vendor billing, ensuring a positive employee experience.
  • You will be empowered to identify and champion opportunities for process improvements within regional payroll operations. Your insights will be vital in developing and implementing scalable, global solutions that enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Maintaining and enhancing payroll process documentation is key to standardization and knowledge transfer. You will ensure that all materials are consistent across regions and kept current to reflect evolving processes and regulations.
  • You will partner effectively with Operations, Finance, and other internal teams to deliver robust and effective payroll solutions that support Pebl's growth objectives.
  • Contributing to continuous process improvement initiatives across all payroll operations will be a key performance indicator, driving efficiency and innovation.
  • As a valuable member of the global payroll team, you will collaborate with colleagues and provide backup support for other regions as needed, fostering a truly global and integrated payroll function.
  • Ensuring the proper handling of personal information in strict compliance with GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and internal data privacy policies is a critical responsibility, safeguarding sensitive employee data.
  • You will provide timely and accurate payroll, expense reporting, and billing support to the account management team, enabling them to serve clients effectively.
  • A commitment to building and maintaining deep expertise in international employment, payroll, and PEO (Professional Employment Organization) operations is expected, positioning you as a subject matter expert.
  • This role offers the exciting prospect of expanding your regional payroll knowledge and expertise beyond EMEA as your career progresses within Pebl.

🎯 Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant payroll experience, with a strong emphasis on international payroll.
  • Proven, in-depth knowledge of EMEA payroll legislation, compliance, and year-end requirements across multiple countries.
  • Experience managing complex payrolls involving multiple data sources, diverse employee types, and external vendors.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, complex formulas) and experience with payroll software or ERP systems.
  • A strong controls mindset with exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Fluency in Business English, both written and verbal, is essential for effective communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also excelling independently under pressure and meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving solutions.
  • Self-motivated, positive attitude, and a strong desire to learn and support the growth of colleagues.
  • Experience working with NetSuite or a similar ERP system is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Expensify or similar expense management platforms is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as an integral part of a global team.
