  • • In this critical position, you will leverage your expertise in payroll and timekeeping systems to troubleshoot issues, optimize software solutions, and drive process improvements with minimal supervision. Your primary focus will be on maintaining rule configurations and providing in-depth support for our payroll and timekeeping software.
  • • You will be instrumental in researching, analyzing, and recommending enhancements to our payroll processing workflows, ensuring efficiency and accuracy across the organization. This includes a thorough understanding of new implementation technologies and processes, where you will provide valuable input for necessary changes and updates to master files.
  • • A key responsibility will be generating ad-hoc queries to support organizational objectives and providing data-driven insights to leadership, aiding in informed decision-making.
  • • Your role will encompass testing and validating new system upgrades and implementations, ensuring seamless integration of existing payroll system technologies across current and new locations, as well as during mergers and acquisitions.
  • • You will be the go-to expert for maintaining rule configurations within our payroll and timekeeping systems, serving both internal teams and affiliated sites. This involves providing ongoing, high-level system support to ensure smooth operations.
  • • Utilizing project management principles, you will assist in achieving stated project outcomes, ensuring that all initiatives are completed accurately and within established timelines. You will be accountable for adhering to project deadlines and proactively keeping leadership informed of any outstanding issues or support needs.
  • • You will make strategic recommendations related to payroll and timekeeping systems support and implementation, contributing to the continuous improvement of our payroll infrastructure.
  • • A significant aspect of this role involves coordinating change management, communication, and training activities. This includes developing and delivering comprehensive training on pay practices, timekeeping, and all payroll-related topics to internal teams and affiliated participants.
  • • You will regularly collaborate with payroll leadership to identify communication and training needs, and you will be responsible for creating and/or proofing all publicly available content, including emails, eLearning curricula, forms, website postings, and policies. Collaboration with the marketing department on internal communications will also be a key function.
  • • Conducting engaging in-person and virtual training sessions requires advanced presentation skills. You must possess excellent verbal and written communication abilities, a sharp analytical mind with strong mathematical skills, and extensive knowledge of payroll practices, concepts, and regulatory and legal requirements.
  • • Familiarity with the impact of collective bargaining agreements on payroll and timekeeping solutions is essential. You will need logical thinking capabilities and the ability to acquire intricate knowledge of system software and hardware.
  • • Advanced Microsoft Office skills are a prerequisite for this role. A positive attitude, strong support skills, flexibility, creativity, and a willingness to implement new ideas are highly valued. You must be adaptable to change and demonstrate outstanding professionalism, poise, and tact.
  • • This role may require some overnight travel to support various Sanford Health locations and initiatives.
  • • The Payroll Systems Specialist will work an 8-hour day shift, with a standard 40-hour work week. This is a non-union position.
