Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Be the data hero who powers smarter pharmacy-benefit decisions for 55 million Americans. As a PBM Data Analyst I at MedImpact you will own the end-to-end lifecycle of mission-critical data that drives RFP savings estimates, client billing, and executive-level reporting.
- • Every day you will ingest, cleanse, and validate multi-gigabyte claims, eligibility, and rebate files from 70+ source systems; run SQL queries and BI dashboards that surface trends in drug utilization, network performance, and rebate yield; and package findings into polished, client-ready decks that influence multi-million-dollar contract renewals.
- • You will partner shoulder-to-shoulder with actuaries, underwriters, product managers, and external payer clients to translate ambiguous business questions into precise analytic plans, then deliver answers that are accurate to the penny and compliant with HIPAA, Ray Savings, and CMS mandates.
- • Build repeatable ETL routines in SQL Server, Snowflake, and Azure Synapse that cut manual production time 40 % while adding automated QC checkpoints that flag outliers before they reach clients.
- • Develop self-service Tableau and Power BI templates that allow account teams to explore drug mix, generic fill rate, and specialty spend on demand—freeing you to focus on deeper predictive work.
- • Investigate anomalies: when a client’s GDR drops 3 % month-over-month you will drill into prescriber, therapeutic class, and formulary tier to isolate root cause and recommend corrective action.
- • Support month-end financial close by reconciling rebate accruals to the general ledger within 0.1 % variance, then publish interactive variance walkthroughs for Finance and Audit committees.
- • Contribute to next-gen products: pilot machine-learning models that forecast specialty drug trend, test new data-visualization libraries, and feed UX insights to the product team for roadmap prioritization.
- • Maintain a living library of data definitions, business rules, and transformation logic so knowledge is never siloed and new team members ramp in days, not weeks.
- • Champion continuous improvement: lead monthly “data quality blitz” sessions, present lunch-and-learns on SQL optimization, and earn Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification within your first year.
- • Exemplify customer obsession—respond to urgent client escalations within one business hour, translate technical jargon into plain English, and proactively suggest metrics that help clients hit their STAR ratings and MTM goals.
🎯 Requirements
- • 2+ years of hands-on PBM or healthcare claims analysis experience including deep familiarity with NCPDP standards, rebate contracts, formulary tiers, and drug utilization metrics.
- • Advanced SQL scripting skills (window functions, CTEs, query plan tuning) against large relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, or Snowflake) plus intermediate proficiency in Excel pivot tables, Power Query, and VBA.
- • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or related quantitative field; AA acceptable with 4+ years of relevant PBM experience.
- • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent deliverables with tight deadlines while maintaining 99 %+ accuracy; experience with Agile or Kanban workflows preferred.
- • Working knowledge of data-privacy regulations (HIPAA, HITECH) and healthcare compliance frameworks (URAC, NCQA); Tableau or Power BI dashboard development a strong plus.
🏖️ Benefits
- • 100 % employer-paid medical, dental, and vision for employee plus 75 % for dependents, plus $600 annual wellness stipend that covers gym memberships, wearables, and mental-health apps.
- • 401(k) with 6 % dollar-for-dollar match, immediate vesting, and optional after-tax Roth conversions; additional discretionary profit-sharing contribution historically averages 3 %.
- • 18 days PTO in year one, 12 paid holidays—including a floating personal day for volunteerism—and a paid sabbatical after five years of service.
- • Up-front tuition reimbursement up to $5,250 per calendar year for job-related degrees or certifications (SAS, Python, Lean Six Sigma, FHIR) with no clawback if you stay 12 months.
