- • Peer Mentor - EST at Equip Health Inc. is a vital role supporting individuals in eating disorder recovery by providing lived-experience-based guidance, emotional support, and skill-building within a multidisciplinary virtual care team. This position directly contributes to Equip’s mission of expanding access to evidence-based, compassionate treatment across all 50 states, helping patients and families navigate recovery with empathy and clinical alignment.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining an updated calendar for patient session bookings, conducting virtual one-on-one sessions tailored to individual patient needs using active listening and motivational interviewing techniques, co-facilitating support groups for patients and their families, practicing responsible self-disclosure grounded in personal recovery experience, completing timely and thorough documentation for care team coordination, attending internal meetings such as supervision and treatment huddles, participating in ongoing training on evidence-based modalities like Family-Based Treatment and CBT-E, and performing other duties as assigned to support care delivery.

- • In this role, the Peer Mentor will deepen expertise in evidence-based eating disorder treatment approaches, strengthen clinical communication and documentation skills, gain experience in virtual group facilitation, and develop professional resilience through structured supervision and training—positioning them for growth in mental health, peer support, or clinical care careers.
🎯 Requirements
- • Lived experience with eating disorder recovery and identification as being in a solid space of recovery
- • 2+ years of direct patient care experience in mentorship, social work, milieu therapy, or similar settings
- • Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to build professional, collaborative relationships
- • Strong organizational and time management skills with a track record of meeting goals
- • Comfort working remotely, being on camera, and learning new technologies
- • Ability to work two evenings per week until 8pm local time and commit to minimum 20 hours of direct patient care after 2pm in patient’s time zone
