- • The Peer Mentor is an integral member of a patient’s multidisciplinary care team at Equip Health Inc., a leading virtual, evidence-based eating disorder treatment program serving patients across all 50 states. This role ensures patients successfully integrate into treatment by adhering to care plans, engaging fully in recovery, and overcoming barriers through personalized support and skill-building.
- • Day to day, the Peer Mentor provides skills-based individual and group sessions to patients and caregivers, implements motivational strategies to engage with care plans, monitors adherence, conducts proactive outreach via phone and messaging, guides patients in coping-ahead strategies, and coordinates care plan personalization by booking additional sessions, registering for groups, providing meal support, and referring resources. They maintain availability calendars, complete timely documentation, participate in multidisciplinary team huddles and internal trainings, and build trusting relationships grounded in lived experience of eating disorder recovery.

- • In this role, the Peer Mentor will deepen their expertise in evidence-based eating disorder treatments such as Family-Based Treatment and Enhanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, refine coaching and motivational interviewing skills, gain experience in multidisciplinary care coordination, and develop leadership in patient advocacy — all while contributing to meaningful, lasting recovery outcomes for individuals and families.
🎯 Requirements
- • Lived experience with eating disorder recovery and identification as being in a solid space of recovery
- • 2+ years of experience working directly with patients in a protocolized care setting such as coaching, case management, mentorship, social work, or milieu therapy
- • Ability to provide 33 hours per week of direct patient care, including new patients and follow-up sessions
- • Commitment to work two evenings per week until 8pm (choice of evenings)
- • Comfort working remotely, including being on camera, and learning new technologies
- • Strong oral and written communication, organizational, time management, and attention to detail skills

- • Base pay range of $54,000 to $65,000 with 15% annual performance-based bonus potential
