📋 Description

• As a People Operations Associate at Carwow Ltd, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the company’s rapid growth and mission to become Europe’s leading car-changing destination by ensuring seamless, compliant, and employee-centric HR operations across the UK and Europe. Your work will directly impact the experience of over 600 employees, from onboarding to offboarding, while contributing to scalable people processes that align with Carwow’s innovative and inclusive culture.
• Day to day, you will manage the full employee lifecycle administration, including coordinating inductions, IT setup, and system access for new starters; facilitating internal transfers with smooth handovers; and overseeing respectful, compliant offboarding processes. You will prepare and maintain employment documents such as offer letters, contracts, promotion letters, and references, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. You will also process global payroll for 600+ employees across the UK and Europe, manage leave and absence records, and support benefits administration including health insurance enrolments and share option agreements.
• You will be responsible for maintaining and optimising Carwow’s HR system, Hibob, by ensuring all employee data — including passports, right-to-work documents, and payroll information — is accurate, up-to-date, and audit-ready. You will leverage AI tools and smart solutions to streamline workflows, enhance HR templates, and improve data reporting, turning administrative tasks into strategic enablers for the People team.
• You will support compliance by assisting in the development and maintenance of local HR policies, particularly in line with Portuguese labor law, and ensure all practices meet legal standards across jurisdictions. Your attention to detail will safeguard the organisation against risk while promoting fairness and transparency.
• Working closely with the People Operations Team Lead and the wider People & Talent team, you will contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies, proposing data-driven solutions, and helping build scalable systems that can grow with the company’s expanding footprint in Europe.
• In this role, you will develop deep expertise in HR operations, HRIS management, payroll processing, and compliance within a fast-growing, international tech environment. You will gain hands-on experience with modern HR tools like Hibob, Coverflex, and Freshservice, while strengthening your skills in data literacy, process optimisation, and stakeholder management — positioning you for advancement into senior HR or People Operations roles.

🎯 Requirements

• Proactive and improvement-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills, initiative, and a data-driven approach to identifying and implementing process enhancements.
• Solid understanding of Portuguese labor law with the ability to interpret legislation accurately and apply it to HR practices, ensuring compliance across employee lifecycle activities.
• Fluency in both Portuguese and English is mandatory; experience with Hibob, Coverflex, or Freshservice is a strong advantage.
