Full Job Description
đ Description
- ⢠Embed as a trusted People Partner within FluidStackâs engineering, product, and infrastructure teams to support leadership in managing people effectively during rapid growth.
- ⢠Coach technical managers on performance conversations, feedback delivery, and team-level decision-making through direct, hands-on partnershipânot classroom training.
- ⢠Map and assess current people practices across technical departments, including onboarding, performance reviews, and team dynamics, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- ⢠Partner with the central People team to design, adapt, and implement HR systems (performance, engagement, onboarding) tailored to the unique rhythms of technical teams.
- ⢠Proactively surface department-level people risksâsuch as retention concerns, development gaps, or team frictionâto the broader People team with clear framing and actionable recommendations.
- ⢠Build and maintain trust-based relationships with engineering and infrastructure leaders by attending team meetings, 1:1s (with permission), and planning sessions to understand context and pain points.
- ⢠Navigate complex team dynamics and interpersonal challenges with empathy and precision, focusing on holistic solutions rather than quick fixes or compliance-driven outcomes.
- ⢠Establish a regular check-in rhythm with department leadership to ensure ongoing alignment on people priorities and organizational health.
- ⢠Drive adoption of People systems by ensuring they are not just deployed but meaningfully integrated into daily workflows of technical teams.
- ⢠Serve as a trusted advisor whom technical leaders approach proactively for guidance on people-related challenges, not as a compliance function but as a strategic partner.
- ⢠Travel regularly to FluidStack offices and team locations to maintain strong, in-person relationships across distributed technical teams.
- ⢠Focus on the human impact of every decision, ensuring that processes and policies support employee well-being while advancing organizational goals.
- ⢠Cultivate a growth mindset by asking probing questions, delivering nuanced feedback, and fostering open, trusting relationships with managers and individual contributors alike.
- ⢠Understand the unique pressures of technical environments: sprint cycles, release timelines, IC-to-manager transitions, and ambiguous performance metrics for individual contributors.
- ⢠Advocate for employees while holding teams accountable, balancing empathy with the need for high performance and organizational scalability.
- ⢠Identify patterns in team behavior before they escalate into crises, using observational insight and deep listening to anticipate challenges.
- ⢠Contribute to building a culture where the âhowâ of work is as valued as the âwhat,â ensuring that management practices evolve in alignment with FluidStackâs mission of human freedom.
đŻ Requirements
- ⢠Demonstrated experience as an HR Business Partner, People Partner, or similar embedded role supporting technical teams (engineering, product, infrastructure).
- ⢠Proven ability to coach managers on performance conversations, feedback, and team dynamics in fast-scaling technical environments.
- ⢠Deep understanding of how technical teams operate, including sprint rhythms, IC-to-manager transitions, and challenges in evaluating unquantifiable engineering output.
- ⢠Strong design thinking and problem-solving skills with a focus on holistic, long-term solutions rather than transactional HR processes.
- ⢠Exceptional communication skills: clarity, approachability, and precision in navigating difficult conversations with empathy and accountability.
- ⢠Experience partnering with engineering organizations through hypergrowth phases where people systems lagged behind headcount expansion.
đď¸ Benefits
- ⢠Competitive total compensation package including salary and equity.
- ⢠Retirement or pension plan aligned with local norms.
- ⢠Health, dental, and vision insurance.
- ⢠Generous PTO policy aligned with local norms.
