Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the full lifecycle of PHP-based enhancements for StarChapter’s Association Management Software, from initial story grooming through production deployment, ensuring every line of code directly improves the daily workflows of thousands of volunteer board members.
- • Architect and refactor core modules in our LAMP stack to boost performance, scalability, and maintainability, leveraging modern PHP 8.x features, PSR standards, and automated testing suites that keep regressions at bay.
- • Partner daily with a cross-functional squad that includes Product Managers, UX designers, QA analysts, and external contractors; translate business requirements into technical tasks, provide accurate effort estimates, and deliver sprint commitments on time.
- • Diagnose and resolve complex bugs reported by our 2,000+ client organizations, reproducing issues across staging environments, writing targeted unit and integration tests, and shipping patches that uphold our 99.9 % uptime SLA.
- • Champion code quality by conducting peer reviews, enforcing coding standards, and mentoring junior developers; your feedback loop will raise the bar for readability, security, and test coverage across the entire codebase.
- • Continuously modernize legacy features by introducing service-oriented architecture patterns, containerizing services with Docker, and integrating AWS managed services (RDS, SQS, Lambda) to reduce operational overhead and accelerate release cycles.
- • Collaborate with DevOps to streamline CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions, automate static analysis, security scanning, and blue-green deployments so every merge to main reaches production safely within minutes.
- • Maintain crystal-clear documentation—API specs, architectural decision records, and runbooks—so distributed teammates can onboard quickly and customer-facing support teams can troubleshoot without escalating.
- • Contribute to the product roadmap by surfacing technical debt, proposing innovative solutions, and estimating the ROI of refactoring versus new feature work, ensuring engineering investments align with StarChapter’s growth targets.
- • Engage directly with association leaders during monthly customer roundtables to gather feedback, validate prototypes, and witness firsthand how your code empowers volunteers to focus on their mission instead of paperwork.
- • Stay ahead of industry trends by evaluating emerging PHP frameworks (Laravel, Symfony), exploring headless CMS integrations, and piloting GraphQL endpoints that open new extensibility options for third-party developers.
- • Uphold Fullsteam’s inclusive culture by participating in remote-first rituals—daily stand-ups, fortnightly demos, and virtual coffee chats—where diverse perspectives are celebrated and every voice shapes our collective success.
