Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • Design advanced, deterministic physics problems for training and evaluation of frontier AI models, ensuring each problem has exactly one verifiable correct answer
- • Develop comprehensive, verified solutions that clearly document the complete reasoning process behind each answer, emphasizing logical progression and physical principles
- • Create problems that test deep multi-step physical reasoning, avoiding reliance on memorization or superficial pattern recognition
- • Apply computational methods using Python and scientific libraries (e.g., numpy, scipy) to build simulations, models, or computational workflows where relevant to problem design
- • Ensure all problem statements, solutions, and documentation are technically precise, reproducible, and written in clear, professional English
- • Contribute to high-quality STEM training datasets used directly in AI model training pipelines at leading AI research laboratories
- • Focus on domains requiring rigorous analytical thinking, such as classical mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, or quantum phenomena
- • Validate the correctness and uniqueness of solutions through independent verification and computational consistency checks
- • Collaborate remotely with a distributed team of STEM experts to align problem difficulty and technical scope with AI evaluation benchmarks
- • Maintain strict adherence to formatting and structural standards for problem submission, including clear labeling of variables, units, assumptions, and constraints
- • Adapt problem complexity to challenge state-of-the-art AI systems without introducing ambiguity, non-determinism, or subjective interpretation
- • Document all assumptions, approximations, and numerical tolerances used in computational components to ensure reproducibility across environments
- • Deliver consistent, high-fidelity outputs within tight deadlines across a 2-month contract period, with potential for extension based on performance
- • Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining clear communication of progress, challenges, and deliverables
🎯 Requirements
- • Master’s or PhD in Physics or a closely related field
- • Strong research or industry experience in theoretical, experimental, or computational physics
- • Proficient in Python with experience using scientific libraries such as numpy or scipy
- • Solid understanding of modeling, simulation, numerical methods, and multi-step problem solving in physics
- • Ability to design original, challenging physics problems that reflect authentic scientific workflows
- • Excellent technical writing skills in English
🏖️ Benefits
- • Compensation up to 40 USD per hour
- • Contract-based, part-time engagement of 20 to 40 hours per week
- • Fully remote work arrangement
- • 2-month project duration with potential for extension
