Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • Design advanced, deterministic physics problems for training and evaluation of frontier AI models, ensuring each problem has exactly one verifiable correct answer.
- • Develop complete, verified solutions for all problems, clearly documenting the full reasoning process from first principles to final result.
- • Create problems that test deep physical reasoning, multi-step analysis, and conceptual understanding—avoiding reliance on memorization or rote application of formulas.
- • Use Python and scientific libraries (e.g., numpy, scipy) to build computational models, simulations, or workflows where relevant to problem generation.
- • Ensure all problem statements, solutions, and documentation are technically precise, reproducible, and written in clear, professional English.
- • Collaborate with AI training teams to align problem difficulty and structure with the evaluation needs of state-of-the-art AI systems.
- • Focus on domains requiring rigorous mathematical modeling, such as classical mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, quantum mechanics, or statistical physics.
- • Validate that solutions are numerically stable, logically consistent, and free of ambiguities or multiple interpretations.
- • Maintain high standards of technical accuracy and pedagogical integrity in all submitted materials.
- • Adapt problem complexity to challenge current AI systems without introducing non-physical assumptions or unrealistic constraints.
- • Document assumptions, boundary conditions, and physical approximations used in each problem to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
- • Deliver all outputs on schedule within a 2-month contract period, with potential for extension based on performance and project needs.
- • Work remotely with flexible hours between 20 and 40 hours per week, coordinating asynchronously with a global AI research team.
- • Contribute to building a high-quality STEM training dataset used directly by leading AI laboratories to improve model reasoning in technical domains.
🎯 Requirements
- • Master’s or PhD in Physics or a closely related field
- • Strong research or industry experience in theoretical, experimental, or computational physics
- • Proficient in Python and scientific libraries such as numpy or scipy
- • Solid understanding of modeling, simulation, numerical methods, and multi-step problem solving
- • Ability to design original, difficult physics problems that reflect real-world scientific workflows
- • Excellent technical writing skills in English
🏖️ Benefits
- • Compensation up to 40 USD per hour
- • Contract-based, part-time engagement (20–40 hours per week)
- • Remote work with flexible scheduling
- • Opportunity for contract extension based on performance
