- • The Platform Consultant Senior Expert (Cloud & AWS Platform Focus) designs, operates, and enables enterprise-scale cloud platforms that allow engineering teams to deliver software reliably, securely, and at scale, with a strong emphasis on AWS-based architecture and operational excellence.
- • Day to day, the role involves designing and evolving cloud platform architectures, serving as a senior technical authority for AWS services, guiding decisions on scalability, availability, security, and cost, owning platform reliability and automation, troubleshooting complex cloud issues, and advising engineering teams on production readiness and best practices.
- • The role sits within Allstate’s engineering organization, supporting a culture of innovation and reliability in cloud operations, where the consultant partners with application, security, and operations teams to drive platform adoption and governance across large-scale engineering initiatives.
- • In this role, the individual will deepen expertise in enterprise cloud governance, influence platform standards, evaluate emerging technologies, and shape engineering practices by collaborating with directors, principal engineers, and design leaders to improve backlogs and technical decision-making.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years of experience in cloud engineering or platform engineering roles
- • Deep hands-on expertise with AWS, including AWS IAM, AWS Lambda, and core compute services
- • Experience supporting production applications running in AWS
- • Strong understanding of cloud architecture patterns and operational tradeoffs
- • Experience with platform reliability, monitoring, and incident response
- • Experience operating in regulated or risk-aware enterprise environments
