Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Join Clarity Innovations as a Platform Engineer & Product Architect and become the technical linchpin behind mission-critical systems that protect national security. You will design, build, and continuously evolve scalable cloud-native platforms that ingest, process, and deliver real-time intelligence to analysts and warfighters worldwide.
- • Own the end-to-end architecture of multi-tenant, high-availability platforms running on classified and unclassified AWS, Azure, and on-prem environments. Translate complex IC/DoD mission needs into elegant technical blueprints that balance security, performance, and cost.
- • Lead cross-functional squads of software, data, and DevSecOps engineers through agile sprints, ensuring every feature aligns with zero-trust security models, NIST 800-53 controls, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements. Your code reviews and architectural decisions will set the gold standard for the entire program.
- • Spearhead the migration of legacy monoliths into microservices and serverless patterns, leveraging Kubernetes, Istio, Lambda, and Terraform to cut deployment times from weeks to minutes while maintaining 99.9% uptime SLAs.
- • Act as the primary technical liaison to senior IC stakeholders, translating jargon into clear mission value. Present roadmaps, trade-off analyses, and live demos that secure multi-year funding and shape future capability requirements.
- • Establish and enforce CI/CD pipelines that integrate static code analysis, container scanning, and automated compliance checks, ensuring every release meets STIG, SCAP, and ICD-503 standards without manual bottlenecks.
- • Champion a culture of experimentation by introducing chaos engineering, blue-green deployments, and feature flags that allow rapid iteration on AI/ML models for object detection, language translation, and anomaly detection in satellite imagery and SIGINT feeds.
- • Design data pipelines that process petabyte-scale multi-INT feeds (GEOINT, SIGINT, HUMINT, OSINT) using Apache Kafka, Spark, and Iceberg, enabling sub-second query response times for analysts operating in denied or degraded environments.
- • Create self-service developer portals and golden-path templates that reduce onboarding time for new engineers from days to hours, complete with automated policy-as-code guardrails that prevent security drift.
- • Collaborate with Clarity’s security architects to implement encryption in transit and at rest, key management via HSMs, and fine-grained attribute-based access controls (ABAC) that satisfy both NSA Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) and DoD CC SRG IL5/IL6 baselines.
- • Drive cost-optimization initiatives using real-time FinOps dashboards, rightsizing recommendations, and reserved-capacity strategies that have saved prior programs over $2M annually without impacting performance.
- • Mentor junior engineers through pair programming, brown-bag sessions, and architecture guilds, fostering a continuous-learning environment that keeps the team at the cutting edge of cloud-native and edge-computing technologies.
- • Participate in red-team/blue-team exercises and tabletop incident-response drills, ensuring the platform can withstand nation-state adversaries and recover within minutes from ransomware or supply-chain attacks.
- • Contribute to open-source projects and internal IP repositories, publishing whitepapers and presenting at DoD/IC conferences to position Clarity as the thought leader in secure, mission-ready cloud platforms.
🎯 Requirements
- • Active TS/SCI security clearance with ability to obtain CI polygraph
- • 7+ years architecting and delivering production-grade platforms on AWS or Azure, including experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and microservices patterns
- • Deep expertise in NIST 800-53, RMF, and ICD-503 compliance automation within DevSecOps pipelines
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent; Master’s preferred
- • Hands-on proficiency in at least one modern language (Go, Python, Java) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi)
🏖️ Benefits
- • 100% remote-first culture with quarterly in-person summits at secure facilities and optional travel to customer sites
- • Up to $15K annual tuition/certification reimbursement plus paid time off to pursue AWS, Azure, CNCF, and security certifications
- • 6% 401(k) match, immediate vesting, and access to a financial-planning concierge
- • 25 days PTO, unlimited sick leave, and every other Friday off to recharge and maintain work-life balance
