  • • As a Presales Configuration Manager, you will play a pivotal role within the 9-1-1 Emergency Call Handling business, specifically within the Presales Quoting Team.
  • • Your primary responsibility will be to meticulously configure and generate accurate quotations for complex product and system requirements, directly supporting our sales engineering and customer engagement efforts.
  • • You will translate intricate presales documents, sales engineering input, and direct customer requirements into precise system configurations and detailed quotations.
  • • This role demands a deep understanding of Motorola Solutions' extensive product portfolio, including hardware, software, peripheral equipment, and the critical interoperability requirements between them.
  • • You will be instrumental in maintaining up-to-date knowledge of new product releases and their integration capabilities, ensuring our quotes reflect the latest technological advancements.
  • • A key aspect of your role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including System Engineering, Product Management, and Sales Engineering, to thoroughly understand customer technical and functional needs.
  • • You will act as a crucial liaison, balancing the specific requirements of our customers with the strategic objectives and needs of our sales team to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • • You may be tasked with maintaining and enhancing product configuration tools, contributing to the efficiency and accuracy of the quoting process.
  • • A critical function of this position is to rigorously ensure the accuracy of system configurations and requirements on all customer orders, preventing errors and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • • You will be expected to proactively research and resolve any issues that arise from complex or custom system configurations and orders, demonstrating problem-solving acumen.
  • • A significant part of your contribution will involve developing and implementing a consistent, standardized approach to responding to RFPs (Requests for Proposals), crafting compelling proposals, and generating accurate quotes.
  • • This includes creating high-quality, consistent, and accurate documentation that clearly articulates proposed solutions.
  • • You will lead and manage cross-functional teams, comprising members from Sales, Engineering, and Product departments, with the shared goal of delivering timely and accurate quotes and proposals.
  • • You will be responsible for creating detailed project schedules for presales activities, ensuring that the proposed customer solutions are strategically aligned with the sales team's overarching strategy.
  • • This role requires you to interface effectively with various stakeholders, including PM Resource Managers, Sales Managers, Engineering Managers, Presale Project Planners, and Senior Division Staff, to ensure seamless coordination of presales activities.
  • • You may also contribute to the development of business plans, strategies, and approaches, identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities.
  • • A vital part of your role involves direct interface with public safety customers, subcontractors, and other Motorola Solutions employees, conducted through meetings and conference calls, requiring excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • • Your work will directly impact the success of sales pursuits by providing the technical and commercial foundation for winning proposals and accurate order fulfillment.
  • • You will be a key player in ensuring that Motorola Solutions continues to provide cutting-edge, reliable, and integrated solutions to public safety agencies, contributing to the company's mission of building a safer future.
