  • • Shape company-wide change management strategy in partnership with executive leadership to align with BetterUp’s business objectives and evolving enterprise client needs.
  • • Remove institutional barriers to adoption by driving cultural and structural change that enables continuous reinvention for BetterUp and its clients.
  • • Build scalable, teachable frameworks and playbooks that define how change management is executed at BetterUp, including methodologies, tools, and operating rhythms for replication across teams.
  • • Serve as BetterUp’s foremost expert in transformation strategy with external influence on how AI-powered change management reshapes the industry.
  • • Lead enterprise-wide client engagements for complex, high-stakes deployments by designing narrative-led, behaviorally grounded change activation strategies and stakeholder architectures that drive adoption across global organizations.
  • • Rapidly diagnose client contexts, uncover root causes of adoption failure, and architect strategic narratives and activation approaches that shift behavior at scale.
  • • Architect executive influence strategies as a truth-teller for CHRO- and CEO-level client stakeholders, knowing when to hold firm on critical principles with credibility and diplomacy.
  • • Directly contribute to competitive differentiation through breakthrough applications of change methodology, AI, and communications design that establish market leadership.
  • • Mentor and scale capability across the Services team by building systems, playbooks, and learning loops that elevate how BetterUp delivers change and multiply senior practitioners.
  • • Act as a trusted advisor to internal and external executive leadership, influencing transformation strategy beyond delivery to strategic decision-making.
  • • Integrate AI capabilities into change activation workflows to amplify impact, while maintaining human judgment and creativity as core to innovation.
  • • Travel up to 25% of the time if located near a US hub (Austin, TX; New York City, NY; San Francisco, CA; Arlington, VA), or up to 50% if working fully remote.
  • • Work from a local BetterUp hub at least 2 days per week (or 8 days per month) if located near a hub, otherwise operate as a fully remote employee.
  • • Apply formal change management credentials (e.g., Prosci, CCMP, Kotter, PMP) or equivalent demonstrated expertise to guide client and internal initiatives.
  • • Think like a consultant, deliver like a marketer, and direct like a creative lead—with high standards for quality across copy, visuals, and experience design.
  • • Operate with resilience and adaptability across intense launch cycles and quieter sustain phases without compromising quality or burning out.
  • • Demonstrate multi-disciplinary range by combining change strategy, communications design, and experience craft in high-stakes enterprise engagements.
  • • Build functions, practices, or methodologies from scratch when none exist, writing the playbook for organizational change at BetterUp.
  • • Communicate with exceptional clarity to architect narratives that move hearts and minds at scale and coach others to do the same.
  • • Navigate complexity, politics, and behavior change across large global organizations with 50,000+ employees.
  • • Embrace AI-forward work by experimenting boldly, sharing discoveries openly, and helping define best practices for AI-augmented transformation.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 12+ years of experience in enterprise transformation, change management, or organizational strategy, ideally spanning consultative and in-house environments.
  • • Proven ability to parachute into ambiguous enterprise environments, build trust quickly, and diagnose and shape transformation strategy in real time.
  • • Demonstrated ability to operate at the intersection of change strategy, communications design, and experience craft with a portfolio of high-stakes engagements.
  • • Track record of influencing C-suite stakeholders as a trusted advisor on transformation strategy, not just delivery.
  • • Experience building functions, practices, or methodologies from scratch, comfortable writing the playbook when none exists.
  • • Formal change management credentials (Prosci, CCMP, Kotter, PMP) or equivalent demonstrated expertise.
