📋 Description
- • Lead the architecture and technical direction of Redis Search and Vector capabilities to power AI workloads at global scale.
- • Design scalable, high-performance systems for vector search, retrieval, indexing, ranking, and AI serving workloads with strict latency requirements.
- • Drive complex cross-team initiatives spanning Redis Core, Cloud, AI, and infrastructure teams to deliver integrated platform capabilities.
- • Partner with engineering and product leadership to define long-term technical strategy and roadmap for AI infrastructure at Redis.
- • Translate emerging industry trends and customer needs into technical investments and production-ready features for millions of developers.
- • Conduct technical design reviews and establish engineering best practices across the organization for distributed systems and AI infrastructure.
- • Solve deep performance and scalability challenges in distributed storage systems, search engines, and low-latency serving architectures.
- • Guide implementation of hardware-aware optimizations including SIMD, GPU, SSD, and CUDA to enhance system throughput and reduce latency.
- • Mentor senior engineers and raise the technical bar across the engineering organization through code reviews, design guidance, and knowledge sharing.
- • Represent Redis externally through open-source engagement, technical talks, community leadership, and industry design discussions.
- • Influence the evolution of Redis as a platform for AI by integrating advanced research into production systems used by 10,000+ global customers.
- • Own end-to-end delivery of mission-critical components of Redis’s AI and search infrastructure with a focus on reliability, scalability, and performance.
- • Collaborate with research teams to evaluate and operationalize cutting-edge techniques in vector indexing and hybrid retrieval.
- • Ensure alignment between infrastructure capabilities and product goals across Redis’s cloud and on-premise offerings.
- • Maintain and evolve Redis’s core data structures and storage engines to support next-generation AI workloads.
- • Champion engineering excellence through documentation, testing, observability, and operational discipline in high-traffic production environments.
🎯 Requirements
- • Extensive experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems, databases, search engines, storage engines, or AI infrastructure platforms
- • Strong industry background with experience at leading infrastructure, database, cloud, search, or AI-focused technology companies
- • Proven track record leading architecture and delivering highly scalable production systems
- • Deep expertise in one or more of the following areas: vector search and information retrieval, distributed systems, storage engines and indexing, high-performance systems and low-latency serving
- • Strong proficiency in C/C++ or Rust, including concurrency, memory management, and performance optimization
- • Ability to influence technical direction across multiple teams and organizations
