- • As a Principal Full Stack Engineer at Steer Technologies Inc., you will be a pivotal force in shaping the future of our SaaS platform, designed to revolutionize the automotive repair industry. This is a unique opportunity to be the first US-based engineer dedicated to the core Steer platform, driving innovation and technical strategy from the ground up.
- • You will take ownership of critical components within the Steer CRM, focusing on optimizing data ingestion and processing to power advanced automation tools. This role emphasizes a forward-thinking approach, encouraging the extensive use of AI-assisted coding to accelerate development and overcome any potential gaps in specific technologies.
- • Your responsibilities will extend to architecting and deploying robust, scalable, and secure applications. This includes designing reusable full-stack components and services that ensure the platform's performance and reliability as we experience rapid growth.
- • A key aspect of this role is adaptive development. You must be prepared to pivot your focus based on evolving business needs, potentially working on new or existing integrations to maintain a seamless and integrated ecosystem for our clients.
- • You will collaborate closely with the Product team to deeply understand user pain points and translate these insights into tangible value for auto repair shops. Every line of code you write should directly contribute to improving the operational efficiency and profitability of our customers.
- • Championing code excellence is paramount. This involves establishing and upholding best practices in security, test automation, and code maintainability. You will conduct thorough code reviews, acting as a mentor to elevate the overall quality and technical proficiency of the engineering team.
- • You will also influence and enhance our modern DevOps practices. This includes contributing to the development of CI/CD pipelines, containerization strategies (Docker, Kubernetes), and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to ensure a smooth developer experience and robust operational reliability.
- • The role requires a strong understanding of database technologies, including proficiency with both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Redis) databases. You will be responsible for schema design and query optimization to ensure efficient data management.
- • A significant part of your contribution will involve leveraging AI and LLMs. You should have hands-on experience with these technologies, focusing on prompt engineering and integrating AI solutions to enhance platform capabilities, rather than being strictly tied to legacy frameworks.
- • You will be instrumental in defining the technical roadmap and strategy for the Steer platform, particularly concerning AI integration and data-driven automation.
- • This position offers a high degree of autonomy and impact, allowing you to directly influence the direction of a growing SaaS business in a dynamic industry.
- • You will work remotely within the United States, reporting directly to the Head of Product and Engineering, fostering a collaborative and innovative remote work environment.
- • The ideal candidate possesses a 'builder' mentality, thrives on ownership, and is excited by the prospect of solving complex challenges in a fast-paced startup environment.
- • Your ability to translate intricate technical concepts into clear business outcomes and communicate effectively with leadership will be crucial for success.
- • This role is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned engineer to make a significant mark, contribute to cutting-edge AI initiatives, and drive the evolution of a leading software solution for the automotive repair sector.
